For what it's worth...there was NOT a Jaguar bribe tonight. Instead, the

Thanks to Mountain Dew, we had a team wrap up last week's episode of
Super Greed with 1 million dollars to their name.

Capt: Phyllis Harris
1. Lauren Griswold (1 Terminator win, and $10,000)
2. vacant (Aaron Milsap has $10,000)
3, David Juliano (1 terminator win)
4. vacant

The 2 million dollar topic is "The 90's". David wants to stop. Lauren
wants to go. And so does Phyllis!

Time for the Terminator. It selects Phyllis. She wants the 10K, but
she wants her teammates more. For the first time since TV Greed,
a Terminator is passed on.

For 2 million dollars: Which of the four following events occured in
the 90's?

Berlin Wall falls
Jerry Garcia dies
Nintendo introduced to the U.S.
Exxon Valdez disaster
Clarence Thomas appointed to the Supreme Court
Michael Jackson weds Lisa Marie Presley
Johnny Carson's last Tonight Show
New Coke Introduced

We start with David, who is certain that Clarence Thomas was appointed
to the Supreme Court in the 90's. Lauren knows Jerry Garcia is one
of the correct answers. Phyllis' next choice is Jackson/Presley. Since
David helped her out last time, she gives him the final choice. It
is Carson's last show. She accepts the answers.

Did Jerry Garcia die in the 90's? He did.
Did Lisa Marie marry Micheal Jackson in the 90's? Yes.
Was Carson's last Tonight show in the 90's? It was.

With Clarence Thomas remaining as the unrevealed answer, we get to
the decision. Will anybody take the sure thing of the Jaguar with 75K
in trunk?

David is going on!
Lauren will continue!
So will Phyllis!

So, with no Jaguars given away this time, we need to know one thing:

Was Clarence Thomas appointed in the 1990's?

HE WAS!

Now that we have reached the 4 million dollar plateau, every player
makes their individual decision whether or not they wish to continue.
They need to know one more thing before they go on:

The $4 million topic is: "Prime Time Hits"

The decisions are locked in.

"Forget Curtis Warren". Show David the money. 800 thousand to be
precise.
What about Lauren? She is going to enjoy her 810K.
Does Phyllis feel the need for Greed? Not without her team. She will
also stop.

After the post-game embrace, we meet a new group:

Capt. Micki Copenhaver
1. Charley Rossman
2. Juliana Boucherd
3. Bob Papenbrook
4. Kenny Snider

For $25,000: Which would a humiliated person eat?

Shepherd's Pie
Humble Pie
Mincemeat Pie
MoonPie

Kenny's had this dish in the past. Humble Pie. Micki will accept the
answer. No Humble pie for this team.

For $50,000: What is the nickname of the British flag?

Skip Jack
Union Jack
Apple Jack
Cracker Jack

Bob knows it is Union Jack. Accepted and confirmed for $50,000.

For $75,000: Which advertising icon wears an earring?

Pillsbury Doughboy
Tony the Tiger
Michelin Man
Mr. Clean
Ronald McDonald

Juliana is %100 certain that Mr. Clean wears an earring. Micki
accepts. Mr. Clean does wear an earring.

For $100,000: If you got a Head Titanium, what did you receive?

A wristwatch
A metal detector
A fountain pen
A tennis racquet
A football helmet

Charley's original though was golf club. But, he knows that Head is
a major manufacturer of tennis racquets. He makes that his answer.
Micki accepts it. Head Titanium is a tennis racquet!

The $200,000 topic is "Popular song lyrics". They will go on.
Terminator
time. It picks Kenny. He wants to be the captain!

"How many dozens are there in a gross?"

Kenny rings in, but there are not 4 dozens in a gross. There are 12.
Micki remains captain.

For $200,000: Which 4 phrases can be found in "The Star-Spangled
Banner"

Rocket's red glare
Amber waves of grain
Home of the brave
Twilight's last gleaming
Dawn's early light
Let freedom ring

Bob starts off with "Twilight". Juliana's choice is "Dawn's". 'Rocket'

is Charley's choice. Micki wraps it up with "Let Freedom". She will
lock those in.

Rocket? It is in there.
Twilight? That's there as well!
Dawn? That's three.

Micki refuses the bribe. Charley & Bob are not pleased.

Did they have a right to be? They sure as hell did.

"Home of the brave" was the final part of the lyrics. The three
seated teammates leave the stage together, and I don't think I've
seen a more bitter group of contestants walk off the stage. If looks
could kill, Micki'd be 6 feet under now.

New group:

Capt: Jong Lee
1. Kent Komono
2. Teresa Tresevant
3. Jake Oliver
4. Amanda Marks

For $25,000: Which is a form filled out by U.S. taxpayers?

1040
1230
1490
1600

Amanda postponed filing this form: the 1040: Jong accepts it. Right!

For $50,000: What is foosball?

A tabletop soccer game
A Chinese hors'doeuvre
A floating pool cleaner
A fortune teller's prop

Jake recalls getting schooled on this. He's been schooled in tabletop
soccer. Jong will accept the answer, and they are right.

For $75,000: Which is both a hip-hop artist and a brand of boxing
gloves?

DMX
Jay-Z
Everlast
Coolio
Public Enemy

Teresa likes hip-hop, and her answer is Everlast. Jong accepts as
soon as the answer is out of her mouth. This group will last for at
least one more question.

For $100,000: What company has its headquarters at Checkerboard
Square?

General Motors
Hershey
Blockbuster Video
Ralston-Purina
Paramount Pictures

Kent has relatives in St. Louis. He knows it is Ralston-Purina. Jong
accepts the answer.

The 200K topic is: Popular Cookies. They will continue.

We have the Terminator on the prowl. It lands on Jake. He's going,
and Kent is the intended victim.

"What instrument are you playing if you are tickling the ivories?"

Kent is in. Piano tickles his fancy. He survives the Terminator.

For $200,000: Which four are cookies are made by Pepperidge farms?

Iberia
Milano
Chattanooga
Chesapeake
Sausalito
Chessmen

Jong uses the Freebie, and it eliminates Iberia. Amanda starts off
with Chesapeake. Milano is Teresa's answer. Kent's answer is
Sausalito. Jong wraps it up with Chessmen. He then thinks
geographically, and changes his answer to Chattanooga.

Is Milano correct? It is.
What about Chesapeake? That is two.
Sausalito? One to go.

And it is Jong's answer of Chattanooga that remains. He has no idea
if his answer is right. And he is also smart enough to take the
bribe. Smart move. Chessman was the final correct answer. 5000 dollars
each as nice consolation prize.

Our new group:

Capt: Ernie Avila (Daniel's brother!)
1. Deborah MacIlwaine
2. Elizabeth Rogers
3. Jared Bielow
4. Monique Jones

For $25,000: Name the popular sound-activated on-off device.

The Snapper
The Clapper
The Tapper
The Rapper

Monique recalls the ads. The Clapper is her answer, and Ernie will
accept it. That is right!

For $50,000: Cargo, carpented and perachute are all styles of what?

Shirts
Hats
Pants
Vests

That gives Jared an 80's flashback, to when his brother wore parachute
pants. Ernie accepts. Pants was correct!

For $75,000: How many Russian cosmonauts have landed on the moon?

0
2
3
4
6

Elizabeth makes an educated guess of zero. Ernie doesn't recall any
Russians reaching the moon, so he'll accept it. Not one Russian landed
on the moon.

For $100,000: Which is not a colour of Tic Tac?

White
Yellow
Green
Orange
Red

Deborah's answer is yellow. It is accepted by Ernie. There are no
yellow Tic Tacs.

That's all for this week. One more episode of Super Greed to go,
and it is up next Friday.

This proves that common /Greed/ truth: In order for a team to succeed, a
male's gotta lead.

>Capt: Ernie Avila (Daniel's brother!)

When I first heard the name, I was wondering if he and Dan were related.

Two words for you:

Phyllis Harris...

two more words for you:

Rich Wilkes (Mr. I can't believe anyone goes to Elton John concerts)

Ain't that common...and it ain't the truth.

I didn't think of that until he said his "description" line: "My brother
lost $2 million dollars right here" (as he pointed to the captain's
podium). Most of those things the contestants say are stupid but that one
made them all worthwhile.

Lisa Marie and Michael married in Summer 1994.

They could've bribed the cars and $150K in cash -- when I saw your
update with the four answers [show was pre-empted here], I knew we had
our first $2M win in game show history.

Also:

Lauren Griswold is the new Queen of Game Shows. Her $810,000 win last
night makes her the highest winning woman in the history of the genre.

I also believe the $2,000,000 [irrespective of the other
Terminator/bribe gets from last night] is the biggest _night_, money-
wise, in the history of the genre. It's either that or it's in the top
two or three.

Actually, he lost THREE POINT TWO MILLION right there -- or, more
correctly, in front of the podium where the jackpot question [which his
brother is still the only one to try -- though you have to wonder if
the one with one share of that $2M might have taken a shot at a
feasible question] and the Million Dollar Moment are both played...

Before. Which brings an interesting question to mind ... if more than one
person were to go for the top question, would those people still work as a
team on the answers?

Well, she might be able to see [with the config of the buttons and their
placement on the podiums] what the others decide...

And as for the team, remember there's a Terminator first [Good God!!],
and then if two or more still remain, they consult as a team for 30
seconds, and then the captain gives the Fateful Four in 10 for the shot
at the jackpot.

But yeah, they do sound similar.
