Here are my favorite game-show announcer signoffs:

1. "Super Password" (1984-89) "This is Gene Wood speaking for Super
Password, a Mark Goodson Television Production."

2. TPIR (current version, in two forms:) "This is Johnny Olsen speaking
for The Price Is Right, a Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Production."
Or: "This is Rooooooood Roddy speaking for The Price Is Right, a Mark
Goodson Television Production."

3. Tic Tac Dough (all announcers, 1978-85)" "The New Tic Tac Dough" is a
Jack Barry and Dan Enright Production."

4. Password Plus (all announcers, 1979-82) "This is (insert announcer's
name here) speaking for Password Plus, a Mark Goodson-Bill Todman
Production."

I always liked:

This is Johnny Olsen speaking for Now You See It, A Mark Goodson/ Bill
Toddman production. ( and you'd see the names appear on the gameboard
readout) Stay tuned for "Love of Life", appearing next, over most of these
CBS stations.

Speaking of NYSI, anyone else notice that in the opening, they sometimes have
the names or partial names of other G/T shows on the board? I've seen this
twice, and can make out "Truth," "Tattle," "Match," "Price," and "Password."
Any others that I may have missed?

I remember in the early years of The Joker's Wild the closing
announcement:

"This is Jay Stewart speaking. The Joker's Wild is a Jack Barry
and Dan Enright Production."

Keep in mind that The Joker's Wild was and is trademarked by
Jack Barry Productions. Barry & Enright Productions were
the packagers of the 1977-86 version.

On most Reg Grundy game shows (haven't gotten into the Reg
Grundy department yet), the announcer would say his name,
and about ten or fifteen seconds later, the RG logo would appear
then the announcer would say "Scrabble (or SOTC) is a Reg
Grundy Production."

Until recently, Wheel of Fortune's closing line was:
"This is Charlie O'Donnell speaking. Wheel of Fortune was
created by Merv Griffin."

Bzzt, wrong answer! GSN's TTD reruns are up to Apr'79 currently and Jay
Stewart still says "...It's the New Tic Tac Dough". I think it became plain
old "Tic Tac Dough" during the 1979/80 season.

The only time TTD was ever identified as"The New TTD" was during Summer
1978 on CBS. From 1978-86, it was just known as TTD. In 1990, ditto,
although, TV Guide made a point, as did USA in 1993-94 reruns of it, of
calling it the new TTD, although Larry Van Eyse and Patrick Wayne always
said it was TTD.

I'll second that...Jay Stewart does say "The New Tic Tac Dough" during
most of the 70's run.

*sigh* One more time, Zach, it's Larry Van Nuys, LARRY VAN
NUYS. Say it with me, now, Zach:

"Larry Van Nuys"
"Larry Van Nuys"
"Larry Van Nuys"
"Larry Van Nuys"
"Larry Van Nuys"

Sehr gut.

And I'm disinclined to believe that it's his real name; Van Nuys
is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley, here in Los
Angeles.

"The New Tic Tac Dough" was the show
's title during its short CBS run. By the time the show went into
syndication, it was shortened to just "Tic Tac Dough".

I don't understand why CBS so abruptly cancelled TTD, anyway. I guess they
didn't figure on the show's potential.

Yep.

There's "Line" and "Clock."

During the first year in syndication (1978/79), Jay still says "...It's the
New Tic Tac Dough", though the on-screen title just says "Tic Tac Dough".

I know for sure he said it in all of '78. I don't know how long he said
it in '79. I don't think he said it after '79.

Which replaced Tattletales, IIRC.
