Kristen ? (from E!), Ken Taylor (from the TVG Channel), Danny Bonaduce, and
Gayle Anderson (on-air personality from KTLA).

Damn...this is pretty bad, even for a GSN original...

Yeah...not really a great lineup, though the only one I've never heard of is
Gayle Anderson (but that might just be me).

In a town that's basically wall-to-wall celebrities, THIS is the best they
could do? A line-up where Danny Bonaduce is by FAR the biggest name? This
makes the Whammy Moms show look like Oscar night.

Actually, they're two separate things. TVG Network carries live horse
races and has a wagering-by-phone/Internet component (where legal).
The name stands for "Television Games," which got some people on this
newsgroup excited when the channel was first being planned. Both the
TV Guide Channel and TVG are owned by the Gemstar/TV Guide company.

I was thinking the same thing. :-) At least Mimi Kennedy's the star of a hit
prime-time network sitcom.

Yeah, but he's doing ok: Morning Drive in Los Angeles on radio. Yeah, he's
washed up on TV, but he still has a career.

Plus that weird syndicated John Gray-ish male version of The View he does
with Mister Pyramid.

He's got the daily TV gig still, but more importantly, he's gone from
beating up transvestite prostiutes to beating up Johnny Bravo.

(Well, maybe it's only a lateral move, at that....)

Dharma and Greg was on five years, but she's now the star of a hit cancelled
sitcom.

Crosswits 1986 and some celebs on $100K Pyramid had Z-list players too :)
Albeit, a few of the Crosswits celebs weren't Z-list a few years later.

Well, not washed up on TV entirely either...he does have his co-hosting gig
on The Other Half. But still...those 4 were the best they could do??

And am I the only one who found Danny rather obnoxious on RR last night?

Damn...now I have to give the edge to that celeb RR...not the biggest celebs
(to say the least, LOL), but at least they're all on TV currently!

Indeed...it was primarily a haven for soon-to-be-famous celebs like Rosie
O'Donnell, Jenny Jones, and Arsenio Hall.

Well, Ken Taylor's from the one that occupies the top quarter of your
screen while you're waiting for the GSN line to scroll on, not from the
one with the horse races. B^)

(Which, IMNSHO, does not qualify him as a "celebrity" for these
purposes, but anyway...)

Isn't his partner, Debbie Maten-something-something-something,
a former co-hostess on "The View?"

If so, then I don't know if that's a step up or down. :-D

Ah, see, I have no idea who's on that channel because I have TiVo and
therefore have no need for it (and I think my cable system dropped it a
few months back anyway, in favor of the Style channel).

Debbie Matenopoulos. Or, as John Henson called her on "Talk Soup"...

Debbie Snackydoodleus!

or...

Debbie Snuffleupagus!

(I once considered calling in on their voice mail and screaming "IT'S
MATENOPOULOS, YOU FOOL! MATENOPOULOS! CAN'T YOU GET IT RIGHT?,"
knowing that Henson's response would be a smirk into the camera, a
scream of "DEBBIE SNACKYDOODLEUS!" and some silly music sting while
the crew cackles in the background. "Movin' on...")

You mean, you don't look down to see what's coming up, and look up to
see what's going down? Well, then, you're missing out on...um,
er,...well, Debbie is kind of cute, but that's about it.
