Someone mentioned here a while back that Elaine appeared on Super Password and
either mentioned or brought her daughter on the set....

I am wondering if this daughter was with Bobby Van or her second husband.

Imdb.com says that she and Bobby had one daughter but I want to know if this is
correct. They have been known to be wrong. Elaine and Bobby were married from
1968 to 1980 (his death)
Hope this is not off topic, I was just wondering.

Thank you for reading.

I _wondered_ what happened to Bobby Van!

He and Elaine looked very much in love on "Tattletales", but have not heard
what became of him.

This was the child Elaine had with her second husband - she was just an
infant at the time, I believe it wasn't even two months old. And, IIRC,
Elaine's first child (Casey?) was also on the set at the same time.

I believe that is correct - she was pregnant at the time she was a panelist
on the 1976 version of "I've Got a Secret." with Bill Cullen.

I didn't even know Bobby Van died, either. Does anyone know the cause
of his death? I remember him hosting Make Me Laugh when I was a kid. I
remember Elaine moreso as the host of the New Dating Game in the '80s
for a short time.

I believe he died of lung cancer, but I'm not sure.

Bobby Van died of a malignant brain tumor.

In article <35D65D05...@lynchburg.net>,

You are correct, they were very close as you could see on Tattletales.
If I recall, Bobby was hosting a game show called "Showoffs", when
during it's run, he died of cancer. I remember Elain was completely
devestated. I always thought Bobby was a very funny guy!

Thanks for all the responses. I just assumed everyone knew Bobby was no longer
with us.
IIRC, I believe it was cancer. It certainly was shock to me.
I have Bobby and Elaine on a Monty Hall Beat the Clock, and Bobby has a bad
perm on it (simular to jim pecks)...I have often wondered if he was in the
throes of chemo when that was taped.(show was on from 79-80)
Just a thought...

I remember reading a story about Bobby Van making an appearance on an
awards show or some other special shortly before his death, and
apologizing to the audience about his not looking too good.
