Hi all-

I was going through my tapes of Super Password eps, and I came across an
episode where a man won $45,000 in the bonus round (BTW he played with Patty
Duke). I was wondering if this was the most anyone had won in the bonus round
of Super Password? Was there a limit on how much he could win?

Well, there was that ep where Patrick Quinn "won" $55,000 (won, but never
collected--heh heh).

Why didn't he collect? What's the story on Patrick Quinn?

If memory serves me correct, Patrick Quinn was a wanted FBI fugitive. I'm
sure appearing on a national tv game show game him plenty of "exposure."
Perhaps they should have played the "Tattletales" theme or the "To Tell The
Truth" theme when showing his picture, eh????

Forgive me for being slightly off-topic, but
what idiot fugitive in their right mind would want to be on TV anyway? Also,
wasn't
Patrick Quinn his name on the show, and Kerry Ketchum his real name? or was it
vice versa?

I think you answered your own question. Someone really really stupid.

And that 1986 ep where Marjorie won $55,000 w/the help of Janis Page.

I remember seeing at least two $50,000 winners and they did collect.

hey folks, doesn't this sound like the fugitive who was wanted in Alaska, and
was later arrested after authorities saw his password appearance?

From what I recall on Super Password, there were two $50,000 plus winners. One
was a woman who won with the help of Janis Page from the pop/jazz vocal group
The Manhattan Transfer.

The other was a man (a wanted FBI fugitive) named Kerry Ketchum. His alias
(what he used on the show) was Patrick O'Quinn. He did collect the $55,000 but
did not get to keep the money. He figured he'd change his name, win the money,
and move to France or something like that. But his TV exposure made it way too
obvious for the law and victims to recognize him.

Other than that, Kerry (Patrick) was a great player and was fun having him on
the show.

I think Janis Paige was starring in some primetime series at the time(maybe
Trapper John MD on CBS, but don't exactly remember). Janis Siegel is the singer
from the Manhattan Transfer. The Manhattan Transfer did appear on a celeb week
of nighttime Combs Family Feud in the early 90s.

It was Janis SIEGEL (sorry) and that dark-haired guy from the Manhattan
Transfer who was on Super Password (circa 1988). Then, there was the bald guy
and that fine looking red-haired woman who made alternate appearances. I
remember Bert Convy saying that the Manhattan Transfer was one of his favorite
singing groups.

Yes, The Manhattan Transfer did make an appearance on Family Feud (Ray Combs
version) in 1990.

Janis Siegel and Alan Paul, Cheryl Bentyne and Tim Hauser. (Who was the fifth
person on the FF appearance?)

It was May, 1989. In the last day, they promised to do another Grammy special,
but never got around to it.

It was 1989, not 1990, I have the whole week on tape with "Copyright 1989 The

Knight, Cheryll Bentene,Vanessa Williams, and Janice Siegal vs. Luther Vandross,
Bobby McFerrin, Alan Paul, Little Richard, and Tim Houser. Please forgive my
