Multimedia Games, Inc. enters into agreement with Jonathan Goodson
Productions to produce televised
bingo-style game show

TULSA, Okla.--April 10, 1997--Multimedia Games, Inc. (MGAM/NASDAQ)
announced today that the company has
entered into an agreement with Jonathan Goodson Productions, which is
affiliated with Paramount Television, to produce and
distribute nationally a televised bingo-style game show based on
MegaBingo(R), the million dollar bingo game. MegaBingo(R)
is run by MGAM twice a night linking more than 60 high-stakes Indian
Bingo halls across the country.

According to Daniel Sarnoff, vice president of MGAM and president/CEO of
TV GAMES, INC. (a wholly owned subsidiary
of MGAM), "We selected Jonathan Goodson because his production company
and creative staff have been fundamentally
responsible for the success of the television game show format and have
been top dog in that arena for more than 25 years."

Some of the current Goodson executives who are part of the MegaBingo TV
game show development team worked as part of
the creative team at the former Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions.
Mark Goodson Productions is responsible for such
hit game shows as "What's My Line?," "Password," "Beat the Clock," "To
Tell the Truth," "Family Feud," "The New Price is
Right," "Classic Concentration," and "The Match Game" among many others.
Goodson continues to be a recognized leader in
the game show field. For example, the president of NBC Entertainment
recently stated, "Jonathan Goodson continues to turn
out the finest, first-rate games shows in the world." In addition,
Jonathan Goodson Productions has extensive experience in the
lottery industry, working with numerous state lotteries including New
York, California and Florida.

Jonathan Goodson remarked "I am proud to be associated with a company of
MGAM's creativity, reputation and honesty. At
the end of the day, TV shows like these demand that the provider of the
actual game be of the highest integrity and be able to
adapt game attributes to complement the TV Game Show Production. After
spending over two years in association with
MGAM and its staff. I am confident that both they and the tribes they
represent meet that challenge."

In addition, MGAM and Goodson inked a letter of intent to pursue certain
lottery business capitalizing on interactive,
entertainment-rich game concepts delivered via the information
superhighway.

Multimedia Games, Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary
MegaBingo(R), Inc., has exclusive contracts with over 50 Indian
nations to provide linked games that are integrated among multiple
halls. Multimedia Games, Inc. is the nations leading provider
of linked high-stakes bingo games, electronic based interactive bingo
games, and associated data processing services and
products to the Indian gaming industry.

Uh-uh. From "The Box":

<<FRANKLIN HELLER: Bob Bach created "What's My Line?" He got
the idea on a subway. He was looking across the aisle at a guy
and he thought to himself, I wonder what he does for a living?
He told the ieda to Goodson, who liked it. In return, he gave
Bob a lifetime job booking the guests. The price for that was
to never say it was his idea, and he never did take credit for
the show.

BOB STEWART: Mark Goodson claimed credit for the earth. He
alsio claimed "The Price is Right" was his show.

HELLER: He liked people top think he made up these shows.>>

I'm inclined to believe this was created by Howard Felsher.

Nope. According to Dick DeBartolo in "Good Days and Mad" (a
wonderful book about Mad Magazine), the man of a thousand
*blanks* is:

Robert Noah!

In mild defense of Bill Todman, "Call My Bluff" ran in the US
from 29 March - 24 Sept 1965 (I remember it as being 1966, but I
was but a lad, so what do I know. :-D)

Jonathan's production company has been in existence for only a year or two, and
besides state lotteries and a failed pilot has done squat.

>for more than 25 years."

More like 50, but hey, what's a quarter-century one way or the other?

>Some of the current Goodson executives who are part of the MegaBingo TV

Well, let's see. Those two creative giants Andy Felsher and Gary Dawson are
working for Sony doing state lotteries, so it can't be them. I can't see Ira
Skutch and Howard Felsher coming out of retirement to go to work for Jonathan,
so I wonder if they're counting on Frank Wayne and Chester Feldman coming back
from the grave.

>Mark Goodson Productions is responsible for such
>hit game shows as "What's My Line?"

Isn't that the company that was just sold to Pearson?

>"Jonathan Goodson continues to turn
>out the finest, first-rate games shows in the world."

Yes, and Jonathan continues to personally supervise the production of each and
every episode of "What's My Line?" which has occupied its 10:30 pm Sunday time
slot on the CBS Television Network continuously for the past 47 years.

This press release borders on the fraudulent. Not only is Jonathan trading on
the Goodson name, he is trying to equate his nascent, less-than-successful
production company with the past success of his father's production company
which Jonathan cashed out of two years ago.

Neither. Ira tells the story of a G-T executive who came to the office one
day, gathered some people around and gave them paper and pencil. He then
posed the question, "Name something about an elephant", and instructed them to
write down the answer most likely to match the others.

The executive: Frank Wayne.

Don't know who created Beat the Clock or Family Feud, but I have to think that
Chester Feldman played a major role in the creation of the latter.

Blockbusters was mainly Steve Ryan's idea but Bobby Sherman and Ira played
major roles in its development. I think Better Sex was Bobby and Ira's
creation.

Don't forget that in originating the idea for To Tell the Truth, Bob Stewart
also provided the springboard for its derivative, Play Your Hunch. Likewise
with TPRI and its derivative, Say When!!.

And it also has to be said that the BBC version had been redeveloped
substantially by Frank Muir. Still this event is one of Bill Cotton
Jr's favourite stories.

Interesting. One of them is either engaging in some revisionist
history or has fuzzy memories. But DeBartolo does speak fondly
of his days writing for MG -- NBC & CBS versions.
