Does anyone know if they ever came up with a official death for Dorothy
Kilgallon? I've been to her grave and took some photos. Her husband must still
be alive because there is an open spot of the grave marker.

Anyone know of the the last days of John Daly? Where might he be buried?

I know Bennett Cerf was cremated and I've been told Arlene Francis has
Alheimer's. She was such an intelligent woman. I can't picture her at 90 years
old with this dreadful disease.

I almost went to Peggy Cass's funeral but at the last moment I couldn't make
it.

I love watching these old shows. They remind me of my youth and when life was
just a little simpler. These people were very funny wihtout having to be dirty.

Dorothy's husband Richard Kollmar (who played "Boston Blackie" on radio) died
in 1971 from alcoholism. Although their marriage lasted more than twenty
plus years and included many years of doing a radio show on WOR every morning
for a decade, it was apparently a tempestuous relationship where Richard was
compulsively unfaithful and abusive when he wasn't drinking (eventually,
Dorothy had an affair with singer Johnnie Ray). Her death was either an
accident or suicide from a drug overdose. And no, her death had nothing to
do with the JFK assassination, despite the bizarre claim of her biographer
Lee Israel (see my article "Dorothy Kilgallen And The JFK Assassination" at
http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/kilgallen.txt for a debunking of this)

Dorothy's father Jim Kilgallen lived well into his 90s and died in the early
1980s. I don't know what her children do now, though someone once e-mailed
some info on what her youngest child, Kerry (only 11 at the time of her
death) was doing now but I've long since deleted that letter.

John Daly basically withdrew from the public eye in the 1970s. Apart from
appearing on the 25th anniversary special in 1975, the only other things I
know he did were moderate some panel forums at the Washington based American
Enterprise Institute, and also assisted his father-in-law Chief Justice Earl
Warren in writing his memoirs. Daly died in 1991. It's a pity he never
wrote a memoir himself since he was one of the pioneers of broadcast
journalism (many Americans first learned about Pearl Harbor from him)

Agreed. John Daly seemed like a great guy. I loved his laugh. It was so
infectious.
