R.I.P. GSN Live Guest Host Bo Griffin

She died today after a short battle with cancer. She went to the
doctor in January complaining of back pain and found out it was
cancer. Bo hosted GSN Live on and off late last year, early this year.

She was just 51 years old. She will be missed.

Feb 16, 2010 6:03 pm US/Eastern Miami Radio & TV Personality Bo
Griffin Dies
MIAMI (CBS4)

Bo Griffin, who became a household name in Miami radio as 'Bo The
Party Animal,' died after succumbing to cancer on Tuesday.

If you're old enough, you might remember her as 'Bo the Party Animal'
back in the 80s on Power 96, or more recently for her charismatic
personality during several TV show appearances. Griffin's doctor
hospitalized Griffin and diagnosed her with cancer after she
complained of a pain in her back. She had been hospitalized for three
weeks when she died.

Griffin propelled Power 96's Mindy and Bo Morning Show into one of the
most popular morning programs in South Florida radio. She was also on
Hot 105 and did entertainment reporting for a local TV station.

But her career as a TV personality blossomed after she left South
Florida, appearing on Good Day Live and guest-hosting the Game Show
Network's 'GSN Live'. BV Buzz online reports that she had apparently
just signed on to work as a correspondent for the news magazine show
'Extra', where she had done previous stints.

The Greenville, South Carolina native is survived by several family
members, including her father, The Reverend David L. Hellams, her two
sisters Polly Peterson and Cindy Griffin, and her fiancé. She was 51-
years-old.

She was notorious in the '90s for her psychic-hotline ads. You would
call for a "free reading," but in the fine print it said that, by
calling the hotline, you were agreeing to sign up for somebody's
long-distance service.

Maybe the callers should have seen that coming.

Sorry to hear about Bo Griffin. Is it true that she was a psychic?
I'd stay away from those, if I were you.
