I'm surprised no one mentioned that Regis goofed on the $1mil question. For
those who didn't see it, when he was talking to the PAF, he forgot to say "Bob
will read you the question and the two possible answers...". He then said it,
but the 30 second clock had already started. He wasted about 3 seconds of Bob's
time with the PAF. It turns out that it didn't matter, because he had more than
enough time. But, what would have happened if the PAF was about to say "the
answer is definitely..." and then the buzzer sounded? What would they have done
then? New question?

My best guess is that they would have held the clock at 0 for 3 or 4 seconds before
sounding the buzzer, to make the time up.

Or, give the contestant the full 30 seconds and re-superimpose the clock onscreen
in editing to begin counting down after Regis' interruption.

I was surprised they didn't pause the clock when they heard Regis break in with his
additional instruction.

I was surprised at this too. Usually, Regis says the instructions,
THEN says "You have 30 seconds and they start now." That didn't
happen last night, even though it didn't matter, since House's PAF got
the answer and a confidence factor out there in time.

Plus, it looked like the contestant would have known it without
using any of his lifelines.
