ready...and I'll tell you why after the recap:
Here are the 8 contestants who will take part in tonight's show. One
of them will walk away with up to $1 million. The rest will leave
with nothing as round by round they are voted off as...

Anne: "But she got all of her answers RIGHT..."
Chris: "Well, that's good, but I...that's not what I said. It was
about the seconds...how long she TOOK to get it right."
Anne: "That doesn't sound much of an excuse to me. J.P.,...why did
you vote for Lucy?"
J.P.: "Well, for me, it was, uh,...it was the accent."
Anne: "Anybody else's accent you don't like here?"
J.P.: "(after thinking about it) Gosh, I sure haven't detected any
others yet."
Anne: "Well, we have an interesting start. The worst player was
Charlie, but Lucy is the 'weakest link'. Lucy, because Bob didn't
like the color of her dress, Chris thought she took too long and J.P.
didn't like her accent. Lucy, with 5 votes, you ARE the 'weakest

Anne: "In Minnesota, do they have special expressions particular to

Bob: "We say 'whatever' a lot."
Anne: "What do you call a COWARD in Minnesota? [Anne saw the alliance,
too.]"
Bob: "A coward."
Anne: "Oh, good. Why have you voted for Andrea?"
Bob: "She actually missed by banking at one point when we were
actually on a roll. We - she messed up the system being able to bank
more money."
Anne: "Andrea banked $2,500."
Bob: "I appreciate that."
Anne: "OK. And she got all her questions right."
Bob: "I appreciate that, too."
Anne: "And last time, you voted for Lucy, and SHE got all HER
questions right. Do you appreciate that, too?"
Bob: "I'm sure she does not."
Anne: "What is it you say in Minnesota?"
Bob: "Whatever."
Anne: "Whatever. OK. Chris, how do you think you've done since you
got here?"
Chris: "Uh, could do much better."
Anne: "Where are YOU from?"
Chris: "Michigan."
Anne: "What do they call cowards in Michigan?"
Chris: "They call 'em plenty of things, I'm sure."
Anne: "Why have you voted for Andrea?"
Chris: "Well, I was hoping, because of the chain-breaking thing, that
maybe that would be somebody that would get voted off, because I got
nothing right, so..."
Anne: "You're making no sense whatsoever. Have another go: why are
you voting off Andrea?"
Chris: "Because due to the reason like Bob said, she-..."
Anne: "'Due to the reason like Bob said'?! What does THAT mean?"
Chris: "Because she broke the chain of the money. Then I figured
maybe someone else would vote her off as well instead of me."
Anne: "How much did you bank?"
Chris: "Zero."
Anne: "How many questions did you get right?"
Chris: "Zero."
Anne: "It's awful difficult for the rest of us to quite establish what
Andrea did that you think she should be voted off...coming from
somebody who got no questions right and banked nothing! J.P., how'd
you think YOU did in that last round?"
J.P.: "Um,...y'know, I banked a little. I got about, you know, half
of the 2 questions I had right. That's one, so..."
Anne: "(mimicking) 'That's one.' Have you got your hands in your
pockets?"
J.P.: "Yup."
Anne: "Well, take them out!"
J.P.: "Oh, sure."
Anne: "And explain to me why you voted for Andrea."
J.P.: "Um, I was just getting this real, uh, like, lead singer from
the Cranberries feel for her."
Anne: "So, YOU'RE not making any sense, either."
J.P.: "No, that's fine."
Anne: "OK, I think we've established, beyond reasonable doubt, team,
what these guys are up to. But, it's votes that count. And thanks to
Bob, Chris and J.P.,...Andrea, you ARE the 'weakest link'. I'm sure
you'll think of a name for them when you're up in the box. Good-bye."
[DAMN! Long way for Anne to make a point that the 'alliance'
emphatically denies, right?!?]

Angela: "I think, cumulutively, he's probably missed more questions

Anne: "I think that says it all. Bob,...you've changed sides?"
Bob: "I never was ON a side, except my own."
Anne: "Oh. What happened that you suddenly noticed Chris'
performance?"
Bob: "As I said, I've been playing on my own strategy."
Anne: "Well, Chris, who knows very little about geography, literature,
music, animals, TV or ANYTHING, really...with 4 votes, you ARE the
'weakest link'. Good-bye."
[In the post-ousting interview, Chris admits to the alliance and says
Bob got nervous about Anne's heckling...which was probably true.
Chris also said, Bob had no integrity. I just think, after being
found out, Bob was CYA...]

NOTES:
It may be only 7% of what they could've got, but $70K is a VERY decent
showing for a team. Shame that Bob was such an idiot and didn't bank
anything in Round 7.
Ain't Bob a stinker, though? The first two rounds, we KNEW he was in
an alliance. Then he does a '180' and turns on Chris, the decisively
'weakest link' of Rounds 2 and 3. And Bob did, indeed, have the
courage to vote off the 'weakest link' in Round 6 (besides him, that
is). Excellent gameplay by Bob.
Either Anne or the producers are getting better and better at flushing
out these alliances. Hopefully, they'll detract future teams from
trying...but I doubt it. Anne may be vicious with words...but they're
just words.
Next Sunday, the comedians have at her...a MUST-TAPE, in my opinion.
And TRUST me, I'll have the review this time. Let's see how many
times Anne cracks during THIS episode.
