Does anyone have any background information on Pat Finn (1990-91 "Joker's
Wild", "Shop 'Til You Drop")? I only know that he is married and has a son.
If you know when and where he was born, what he did prior to game show hosting,
etc., please post or e-mail me.

He was also a weatherman at a top-rated TV station in the Western United
States (but I'm not sure where).

He was breifly the weatherman on KRON-4 (NBC) in SF (on which JW ran). He wasn't
that good. I think he was the weekend guy.

We did hear from Jimmy again: he hosted a short lived series called "Sports
Snapshot" back in 1993. If you ask me, he was the best of the new hosts in
1990. He was not a great host, but he seemed like a professional rather than
just some football player they hired to host a gameshow. And, if you ask me,
Trump Card was the best new gameshow to debut in 1990.

Jimmy Cefalo has been doing sports on the ABC affiliate in Miami
(WPLG) for several years now.

My vote goes to The Challengers. Good game, cool video wall, very good
host, addicting theme song, and THE JUDGE!

No way. The Challengers was just a Jeopardy! ripoff. Trump Card was original at

Actually, The Challengers was a revised version of Ron Greenberg's late
60s Q&A show The Who, What, or Where Game; in fact, it was originally
intended to be a revival of the latter, right Randy?

And yes, I agree that it kinda looked like a J! clone after they dumped
The Ultimate Challenge bonus, but it was still a pretty cool show.

And Trump Card was NOT an original show. IIRC, TV Guide said it was
actually an American version of a long-running British show, "Bob's Full
House". However, I will say that it was one of the better shows of the
1990-91 season, and a helluva lot better than TJW '90 and TTD '90.

BTW, who wrote that great TC theme song?

the TofC they changed the Ultimate Challenge, but I never knew they did away
with it. ???
