I recently emailed GSN, and they gave me an updated list of the shows in
their library. For one thing, they claim that they have NO episodes of the
$10,000 Pyramid.. So the rumors are untrue according to "Annie Crowe" (The
one who replied to me)They have enough Bullseye episodes to run about 17-18
weeks. They do have the entire run of Pass the Buck too! Here are the shows
that I asked about:

Three on a Match - NONE existing :-(
$10,000 Pyramid - NONE existing :-(
Bullseye - 17-18 weeks :-)
$20,000 Pyramid - The 260 of the 680 shows. :-)
$25,000 Pyramid - ENTIRE RUN! :-)
$100,000 Pyramid - ENTIRE RUN! :-)
$50,000 Pyramid - none.
Pass the Buck - Apparently they have the entire run. :-D

They list hasn't changed much from the one posted a while back other than
getting TPiR.
GSN is said to be CONSIDERING adding Bullseye to the weekend schedule.
Pray! :-D

I wouldn't be surprised if they added this to the daily schedule... 260
eps should be enough to show a year's worth without constant repeats.

> $25,000 Pyramid - ENTIRE RUN! :-)

They _should_ add this to the daily schedule. (I assume you're talking
about the 1980s CBS version; do they own the Bill Cullen eps as well?)

> $100,000 Pyramid - ENTIRE RUN! :-)

Ditto. Does this include the John Davidson episodes as well? (God, I
hope not...)

> $50,000 Pyramid - none.

I believe someone else owns the rights to these.

I hope so, too -- and ditto Chain Reaction. But this is probably moot
for me, since I'm heading back to school in another month and doubt that
TCI of Eastern Iowa will ever add GSN... :(

This figure makes no sense. ABC aired approximately 232 weeks of "The
$20,000 Pyramid," which would mean 1,160 episodes were produced. Why
would they say there were only 680 episodes? Plus, 260 epsiodes only
covers about a year of episodes, but since they have shows from as early
as 1978 and the show didn't end until mid-1980, they HAVE to have more
than 260.

Anyone else confused?

Nope, the Bill Cullen eps are owned by Viacom (all still exist)

I think somebody else owns those too.

Before we go on, I was there, have seen, and talked to GSN
historian/librarian David Schwartz.....yes, he is paid to keep up with
these things. GSN has the full run of Bullseye....it's not been converted
into a tape that GSN can play yet. Other than that, the below is true AT
THIS TIME.....there is still possibility of shows coming in (and David says
that shows are STILL coming in). Also note that GSN has footage for all
these shows in various (clippage) form. And before you get any wild ideas,
Mr Schwartz has no control over programming.......

I asked about "Considerations" and there are none--this is from the people
at the top! No one on GSN staff knows exactly what the fall lineup will
look like. We should still remain hopeful, though....

No, they do NOT own the Bill Cullen eps as well! The reason for that is
because those Bill Cullen eps were syndicated through Viacom.

They've aired the 2nd episode twice. Again 1-53 and the final 50 have been
converted. GSN cannot broadcast anything other than DigiBeta. Everything
must be converted, which is a slow process with 50,000 episodes.

Everything

Oh I see. Yeah, 50,000 episodes might take a while. So it all depends on
whether GSN has converted any episodes before we see them. I wonder if they
have converted all of Chain Reaction & Pass the Buck yet.....

Does this also mean that if they ever wanted to show, say, the MG 7x
ticket plugs in the future, they would have to re-dub that ep?

No....they dub the shows in full content. Again, the reason they are not
showing the ticket plugs is ".....thousands of idiots try to call in to be
contestants on these shows,"

I DON'T CARE HOW MANY IDIOTS CALL IN TO BE CONTESTANTS ON THOSE SHOWS!
RESTORE THOSE TICKET PLUGS! I'M GONNA WANT TO SEE THEM IF I START GETTING
GSN ANYTIME SOON!

Now this is just plain stupid. If they play a ticket plug, GSN will have
to go through the trouble of telling the people who call that this
number is inactive. I don't think that GSN will show it, and deal with
those people just for you Thad.
