Jonathan Allen
Geoff Edwards co-hosted a morning show on KHJ (KCAL) with Meredith McRae
which was a fixture on the local scene for several years. He also hosted
the State Lottery TV show and was a local L.A. disk jockey. Does this
come as a surprise to you?
>Also, has he retired? He left the Big Spin at the end of 1994, when the

Larry Anderson is the host of GSN's interactive game "Trivia Track",
which airs live twice each weeknight...as for Larry being a darn good
host, I am not so quick to agree with you...I didn't like him on the
"Truth Or Consequences" revival and don't like him on GSN...he has a
strange look to me and his eyes kinda creep me out...as for him doing
magic tricks on "The Big Spin", I think that's one of the things that
would have made me dislike him more...I have never liked gimicky
hosts...another host that bugs me with their gimicks is Ron
Pearson...I would like him better if he didn't go into all that stupid
balancing and juggling at the end of every "Shopping Spree"
episode...I guess I like hosts that still know how to maintain a
degree of dignity...
And for those who didn't know, here's a wee bit of Larry Anderson
trivia...he was a co-star of the ill-fated 1986 sitcom "Life With
Lucy" with the late legend Lucille Ball...he played her son-in-law...

Like I said in a previous post, the hosts at GSN have the hosting ability
of a bent fork. (Except Marianne. She's Coooooool. Ok, I think I've made it
clear that I like Marianne. ;o)

Yuck.

I have to disagree with you Jake about Ron Pearson. I kinda enjoy Ron
Pearson's juggling act, and I love to see him mess up! :o)

He also starred on another short-running sitcom, 1979's "Brothers and
Sisters," as a preppie, annoying frat brother (think Gregg Marmalard from
"Animal House") opposite Chris Lemmon and Mary Crosby. "Brothers and
Sisters" was NBC's entry in the "Animal House" knockoff sweepstakes (ABC's
was the official spin-off "Delta House," featuring the same actors as
D-Day, Hoover, Dean Wormer, and Flounder, and a very young Michelle
Pfieffer as Bombshell; CBS's was the single-episode only "Coed Fever"),
and may have been the best of the three (which isn't saying much).
Sorry to get off subject. Geoff Edwards, where are you?

>Mr. Edwards, I recall you doing the California Lottery's "Big Spin" show

also

"Chain

Geoff's game shows have included "Hollywood's Talking" (his first game, for
Jack Barry), "The New Treasure Hunt" (Chuck Barris), "Jackpot
", "Shoot For The Stars", "Chain Reaction" (those three for Bob Stewart),
"Play The Percentages" (Barry), "Starcade" and fill-ins on "Let's Make A
Deal".

As to TPIR; there is little chance that I would be picked to replace
BB. His replacement is just being born now. Interesting fact: Bob
Barker hired me for my first Game Show gig. A local show called "Lucky
Pair", which was seen only in Los Angeles on Channel 2. I left it to
go to a network show and my replacement was Dickie Dawson.
A few years later, I was asked to do the pilot of Family Feud. I had
already committed to Bob Stewart on a project and Dickie stepped in
again. Needless to say, if I had it to do all over again......etc.
etc.
Geoff Edwards
Chuck Woolery? Too low-key.
Peter Tomarken? Not low-key enough, but given the current field I might
change my mind after seeing an audition.
Um, neither is Peter Tomarken. As a rule: people are only "no longer in
game shows" till they get a new game show. :)
