WOW!!!!! A question that's right up my alley! You're addressing the
gal who gave Mark Sinsabaugh that 'You Know You're A Game Show Nut
If.....' tidbit about "writing fan letters to hosts & ending them with
'I Love You!' " . And believe me, I've had crushes on several good
looking hosts, & have even written passionate fan letters to some of
them, getting personally autographed pictures of themselves in the
process. Here are but some of them:

1.) Wink Martindale (my longest-running crush)
2.) Peter Tomarken
3.) Jim Lange (my first GS crush)
4.) Alex Trebek
5.) Dick Clark
6.) Richard Dawson
7.) Tom Kennedy
8.) Jim Perry (his was the first picture I got)
9.) Bert Convy (I have his picture, too)
10.) Bob Eubanks
11.) Chuck Woolery
12.) Jim Peck (I wrote him, but I never got a photo from him. Bummer!)
13.) Wayne Cox
14.) Michael Burger (I recently wrote him!)
15.) Tom Bergeron (another that has currently captured my fancy)

There are others that I simply admired--such as Goen, Ruprecht, DuBois,
Pearson, Probst & Darrow; but if all this won't prove what a big game
show groupie I am, I don't know what will! However, please don't tease
me about it!

REMEMBER GEORGE DeWITT!!

I think Patti Deutsch is attractive in a cute sort of way. I liked some of the
chicks they got in the 4th MG seat too, although that seat was infamous for
seating rotten players

One Sentence: Jacqueline & Samantha Forrest from FOX'S FUN HOUSE.

They made for many late-night fantasies in my bed (literally, since FH
was shown in late-night hours in Oklahoma City, at least the 1st season
of it was until they changed stations).

Miss them much. *SIGH*

Hmm... I could be wrong, but I would venture a guess that late night fantasies
suggests that he fantasized about them late at night.

I've had crushes on the following hosts:

1. Jim Perry (he was really gorgeous on "Card Sharks")

2. Tom Kennedy (He would be little more cuter if he got braces. His teeth are
VERY crooked!)

3. Jack Narz (He would also be more cuter if he had longer hair.)

4. Jim Lange (On the earlier episodes of "The Dating Game, he was handsome
without his glasses.)

5. Chuck Woolery--I have a picture of him when he was a singer in the 60's.
He had long hair, bulging biceps, and was the FINEST boy I had ever seen!

Before Regis, before she married Frank Gifford, before the Cody and
Cassidy stories, before the tabloid trash, there was this vaguely-known
singer with an amazing voice on Name That Tune every week during the
1977-78 season named Kathie Lee Johnson, who wowed me to the point where
I just had to write to her in care of Ralph Edwards Productions, and she
did answer me. I also tried to catch Jo Anne Worley on anything she
appeared on (game show or not), admittedly because she was the only
female TV personality in the 1970s who still wore her hair in a
1960s-style bouffant, a style I still think is glamorous even if it is
passe today. When she appeared on Blankety Blanks in 1975 without it for
the first time, I remember feeling a bit low. And I still have a
videotape of several segments of $1,000,000 Chance Of A Lifetime with
Karen Thomas showing off her Vanna-esque finery in the second season
(not whole shows). --David Johnson

I have to admit that Kathie Lee was a lot more likable back then, even if from
what I've heard her husband at that time was a real bum. I wish I still had
those feelings about her.

As for other game show ladies, I think all of us hets went through our Carol
Merrill and Janice and Anitra crushes, and I also was attracted to Gail Sheldon
of "Beat the Clock" and Meredith McCrea (still am). Also, of more recent
vintage, I've always had a thing for Debbie Bartlett. Just do.

Mark Jeffries--I swear on the soul of Dan Enright that these posts are correct.

Here are my favorite hostess I once had crushes on, in no particular
order:

Jerri Fiala -- Once NTT went to the disco set and I saw her dancing, I
was in high heaven!! It almost looked like she looked older in the
early days of her NTT and Cross Wits stints, and she looked younger &
younger as the seasons went on.

Lee Menning -- One of the handful of hostess we would hear on a regular
basis. Had they matched her up against Summer Bartholemew in an MTV
Grudgematch, Lee would definitely kick Summers butt!!

Debbie Bartlett -- There was always something about her modeling
stare...

Robin Marrella (Double Dare/NICK) -- Probably because out of all of my
faves here, we were the closest in age.

May I say you have excellent taste, and that you must have been in heaven
watching weekend Tattletales on GSN with Ludden, Cullen AND Woolery.
In my single-digit days I fluttered over Rayburn and Dawson, and I always
thought Cullen, Ludden and Blyden (sounds like a law firm) were supercool, and
what an adorable imp that Van was. But today I see how genuinely nice and
good-natured Blyden comes off and I know if I were stuck on an island with him
(him being a. still alive and b. still in his late 40s), he'd at least keep my
spirits up.

I've watched the last three episodes of TPIR and I have realized how pathetic
Chantel is. TPIR models, young or old, have been known for their ability to
excite the audience by wearing sexy bikinis and swimsuits. Dian Parkinson,
of course was the best at it and did it up until she was 48! At 26, Chantel
is in her physical prime, but her shyness towards wearing swimsuits is
almost as bad as an overweight woman. For example, on Thursday's TPIR
showcase, a spa was featured and TPIR Modelling 101 tells us that Chantel
should be wearing a swimsut alongside, but alas, she covered herself up with
a bathrobe. On Friday, one showcase revolved around a Hawaiian trip. Back in
the Dian and Holly days, bikinis were a must, but instead Chantel hid herself
up by wearing some stupid Hawaiian shirt. However, Monday's showcase really
took the cake. One of the showcase items was a skiboat; this time Chantel
DID wear a swimsuit, but it looked like something that the U.S. swim team
would wear (nothing pretty), but at the end of the show, which is where the
viewer gets to look at the models walk around in thier swimsuits and all
their beauty, Chantel wore a ridiculus green light-jacket that covered here
completely! Holly, Dian, or Kathleen NEVER did this, they walked around the
stage so that everyone could see them. I guess this explains why Chantel
doesn't wear two-piece bikinis at all like Dian did. If you notice carefully
when Chantel does wear a swimsuit at the end of the show, Chantel hides
behind Bob or behind a large crowd. On the contrary, Kathleen, who is 47 and
has three kids, continues to look great in swimwear and is not shy about
showing off her figure. This may sound far-fetched, but I think there is
someone to blame for this and that is Janice Pennington. For years there was
a jealous feud between her and Dian. Dian would always upstage her by
wearing the skimpier swimsuits and being more popular because of it. Now
that Dian left, they needed a new model and in order to avoid Janice being
upstaged yet again, TPIR chose a model who would act more conservitavely than
Dian, (that's when Chantel comes in). On a side not, have you noticed how
Chantel is starting to look like Janice? I think there is a solution to the
solution. First of all, I would get ride of Janice. She may look better than
most 56 year olds, but she wasn't great to begin with and now that she has
had many facelifts and wears a ton of makeup, she's of no use. Secondly, I
would replace Janice with a model who would act like Dian did, (the hot one)
but not necessarily look like her. This would allow Chantel to play the role
that Holly did (the cute one), a role that I think she would be good in. I
would greatly appreciate it if you'd e-mail me with your comments, analysis,
or critizisms of my opinions, my e-mail addy is crim...@aracnet.net.

Thank you,

Wayne

I do recall Dian wearing a bikini during showcases and occasionally an
IUFB or prize plug.

I recall Dian, Holly, and, yes guys, even Jan walk around in a robe during the
credit roll at the end of an episode. I don't recall seeing people other than
on Doug's version of price in bikini's; am I wrong, or did they just wear one
pieces? As for it being modesty, do you know how cold it can get to be on that
set, even with the lights blaring down? And I'm sure that if I were female,
regardless of age, I wouldn't wanna walk around in front of millions of people
in Staletto Pumps and a swimsuit, waving to people that I don't know; I have a
hard enough time being on a swim team having to wear a speedo in front of my
team mates!

I have to admit that I also miss the days when Dian wore bikinis and sexy
swimsuits, however I think you're out of line in calling Chantel pathetic. I
don't know this for a fact but I would imagine that outfits are primarilly
selected by show's producers with only some limited input from the models. I
would also imagine that the producers were embarrased by the Dian/Bob situation
and thus because of it may have become a bit more conservative in outfit
selection over the past few years. Regarding your Janice comments, I wouldn't
be surprised if Janice was indeed jealous of Dian because Dian was such a fan
favorite, however your Janice conspiracy theory is so far fetched I couldn't
stop laughing when I read it.

I don't like Chantal much either , but Janice is as much a part of TPIR as Bob
is. I think that
she should be on Price as long as Bob is and all three Barker's Beauties should
be retired when Bob does.

If Bob were a model he would have to go too, but he's not. A model is usually
an attractive young woman/man who poses with a product to best display the
product. Janice no longer fits this description as she is no longer young or
attractive and as such should leave the show. She's in her 50s and looks it.

That's really cruel...what do you care if she stays or goes? Do you really
think your opinion will affect other people's at CBS? Just because she's 50+
doesn't mean she has to go. You know what, just forget it. I'm not gonna even

I for one don't watch TPiR to ogle the models; besides, Janice looks to me
better than Vanna and anyone who has been doing their job that well for that long
should be able to stay as long as they are willing and able. It's not as if she
were 325 pounds and covered in liver spots! She certainly looks good enough to
point at a refrigerator. Sorry to be so grumpy.

Exactly...I guess that means Bob should go too, right? Why r the standards
different? Janice is in her 50s female...she should go...but Bob is male in his
mid 70s and he should stay?? That makes little sense.

Personally, I don't watch Price is Right to look at the models. The
primary purpose is for it to be a GAME show... If you don't like how
Janice looks, then, as Howard Stern would say, JUST DONT WATCH!

The GAME'S the thing, not how Janice looks (which to me, she looks
splendid, and I would never have guessed she is 56! That's only 6 years
YOUNGER than my mom!)

Jan adds a touch of elegance to the show. And although I thought Dian
was very attractive, I don't miss her. Holly on the other hand was a
sweet girl, and it's unfortunate that she was let go. I do hope someday
that we get the straight story about what actually happened.

Besides, she still has her fans. I've seen a few male contestants in recent
seasons ask to meet Janice when they get onstage.
