9/2 - That's Lobstertainment (3ACV08)
Dr. Zoidberg gets his uncle, Harold Zoid, to return for one last
movie...if Bender can get the robot who plays Calculon from "All My
Circuits" to finance it

9/9 - most of the Eastern and Central time zone stations will have
a late football game, so Futurama will not be on there; in those
cities where it is on, "War Is The H-Word" (Fry and Bender join the
army to qualify for a military discount, only to discover they
actually have to fight) will be shown

9/16 - PRE-EMPTED for the movie "Independence Day"

FUTURAMA NEWS FROM "ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY":
David X. Cohen reports that "A Tale Of Two Santas" WILL air this
season "in a later time slot". Also, two episodes have been announced
(no titles, however): Leela becomes the first professional Blernsball
player, and Bender falls in love with a ship's computer (voiced by
Sigourney Weaver).

In most Eastern and Central time zone stations, the 9/9 episode will
not be shown as it's a Fox doubleheader day. In the following NFL
team areas, it depends on whether the local game is on or not:
Baltimore, Buffalo, Dallas, Green Bay, Minnesota:
If the local team's game is shown locally, then Futurama is not on
If the local team's game is blacked out, Futurama should be on
Cincinnati, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Kansas City, New York,
Philadelphia:
If the local team's game is shown locally, then Futurama is not
on
If the local team's game is blacked out, Futurama is probably
not on
(by the way, I have been told the new "if the local team's home game
is shown on that station's doubleheader day, they can show a second
game" rule is in effect this year)

"How DO you know these things in advance, anyway?"
(First of all, this only applies to the Eastern and Central time
zones; in the Mountain and Pacific zones, football should end early
enough to always show Futurama, although there is a slim chance that
there might be a game that runs long enough - 3 hours 45 minutes -
to force Mountain stations to delay the start of an episode or show it
in progress.)

Each week, either Fox or CBS is allowed to show two games on its
stations. On days when Fox stations can show two, the second game
starts at 4:15 Eastern, so if a Fox station shows a 4:15 game, it
will end long after 7:00; Fox realizes this, so it shows a post-game
show until 7:30. (Fox is also smart enough not to show a new episode
when something like 3/4 of the viewers can't watch it.) When Fox
can show one, it's up to the local station to decide whether to show
a 1:00 game, in which case Futurama is on in its entirety, or a 4:05
game, in which case Futurama is usually "joined in progress". (If a
game runs too long, a local station can decide to move Futurama to a
different time, say 1 AM or the following Saturday afternoon,
instead, but I'm not sure any station actually did that last season.)

In cities with NFL teams, the rules are different if the local team
has a Sunday afternoon game:
* If they play an away game on Fox, or a home game on Fox that is not
blacked out, then the local Fox station has to show that game
* If they play an away game on CBS, and Fox only shows one game that
day, the local Fox station probably won't show a game at the same
time (figuring most football fans are watching the local team's
game on CBS)
* If they play a home game on CBS and it's not blacked out, the local
Fox station can only show one game (even if other Fox stations can
show two), and cannot show a game at the same time as the local
team's game
* If they play a home game but it's blacked out, then both the local
Fox and CBS stations can only show one game; usually, whoever would
have showed the local team had it not been blacked out will show
another game at that time and the other station will show a game at
the other time (example: if Dallas has a home game scheduled for
4:15 Eastern on Fox but it's blacked out, the Dallas Fox station
will probably show a 4:15 game and the CBS station a 1:00 game).
However, if the blacked out game was the only game that network is
showing at that time, then the stations switch time slots.

Of course, they said LAST season that "A Tale Of Two Santas" would be
shown, too

<< Tonights episode is Worst episode ever >>

I don't recall it being that great, but I've always given everything a
second viewing. What did you think of the other Zoidberg episode?
