1. Groening owns the program, unlike The Simpsons which he sold to Fox.
Groening may have used Futurama as a bargaining chip as Fox wanted more
seasons of The Simpsons.
2. They wanted it to be something along the lines of The Simpsons in Space
or The Jetsons: they consider Bender to be mean and gave the team a lot of
"suggestions" on how to change the show. Groening refused to let the Fox
executives mess with his vision for what the show should be.
3. They care not for the quality of programs, only for the ratings which
they attract (Not that they have given Futurama a fair chance to prove
itself, what with its Sunday 7pm timeslot and constant football
pre-emptions).
>I'm sure I will sound like a giant newbie(because I am), but why does Fox
>hate futurama so much?
Because you touch yourself at night. *glower*

=v= Yeah, "A Full Night of Comedy!" with _KotH_, _MitM_, and
_The_Simpsons_, then right at the end, "And now, _Futurama_,"
heralded by Homer saying "D'oh! ... I mean, woo hoo!"
