Story is slow but IMO never drags, and there's a will-they?/won't-
they? tease which will be familiar to anyone who watched "FRASIER".
Patricia Clarkson is lovely in the lead role. Alexander Siddig (whose
ex-wife, Nana Visitor, once guested on "F") also is excellent as her
somewhat younger romantic interest.
Film is a Canadian production, though made entirely in Egypt and
exquisitely photographed --- seeing it is like taking abiref vacation
there.

I must see this movie. I've been to Cairo on a work-related trip, and
it was one of the strangest and most exhilarating experiences of my
life. I saw the usual tourist sights, but in 1963 they weren't
entirely spoiled by tourism. The only sign of it in the area around
the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx was a man with a camel who offered
to take our photos (for a price) on the beast. New and traditional are
blended in this ancient city. I heard horns honking on the street
beneath our hotel window, so I looked over the balcony. I saw the
cause - a traffic jam caused by a man slowly herding his flock of
goats along the main thoroughfare!
