What did you guys think of this episode?

Personally, I liked it. But there's something quite
not right with the characters this season, especially
Roz. She seems like a whole different person than
the sassy gal we all know and love. I know, it could
be because she's had a baby and all, but it seems like
quite a drastic turnabout in the make up of her
character. She's very tame and laid back and even a
tad softspoken. And except in "Dial M for Martin", I
can't recall her and Niles exchanging snide remarks
at the other's expense.

In fact, everyone is a bit soft spoken this season.
I remember thinking how odd that scene between Roz
and Frasier was. You know, the one near the end of
the episode when she came to pick up Alice's diaper
bag. You almost had to turn up the volume to hear
them talk. Maybe it's just my imagination.

Also please, more episodes that revolve around
characters other than Frasier. There's been too
much focus on Frasier so far this season. I like
Frasier and realize that the show is called "Frasier",
but it would be nice if others in the show got a
little more attention than their usual one or two
lines. Most notably MIA is bulldog. If he's supposed
to be one of the regular cast members, where has he
been hiding himself? He's had only one or two lines
in a few episodes so far this season.

Instead of adding more cast members, I think they
should concentrate on the ones that they have.
They are such great actors and their talents aren't
being used to the full.

Just my thoughts. What do you think?

True. That was a funny scene though. "We should...." "Kill ourselves?" "I
was gonna say get married." HAha!!

I thought Frasier seemed out of character. I watched it only once so far but I
seem to recall a scene with him watching tv and seeming a bit off. He still
looked good later on in the eppy though. :-)

I agree she's not the same, but I guess she shouldn't be. She looks kind of
drab most of the time. She has had some great lines this season, though.
Just not enough of them.

I thought, uh-oh, is this foreshadowing a romance? But Roz' line 'I thought
you were going to say 'kill' each other' put my mind to rest. I think.

I miss him and Gil. I'm also anticipating a new Niles and Daphne episode.
I'm interested in how they're going to deal with things now. I'm *not* one of
the people who wants to see them get together, but I like the episodes where
Niles anticipates and tries and fails and angsts. There have only been
little hints of Niles infatuation this year; less than I remember in past
seasons.

I agree. The few moments where Niles
talks to the other tenants of his apartment
building, and explains how/why he has a
nickname, set me to thinking that they
haven't really exploited Niles' situation as
much as they could. I can see them getting
at least one, possibly more, good episodes
featuring some sort of "fish out of water"
theme around this -- Niles trying and failing
to fit in with the other tenants, or trying and
succeeding, Martin and/or Daphne fitting
in better with Niles' neighbors than Niles
himself does (e.g., "how did Coyote turn
out like he did with such a righteous old
man for a dad?"), Niles meeting up with a
female tenant who is attractive, but clearly
not the kind of woman he's used to dating,
etc. etc.
NOTE: I hereby absolve anyone associated
with the show who may be lurking here of
any liability if they use one or more of these
ideas in any way, shape, or form.

Well, rest assured. At least, Gil will be on in the next episode "The Show
Where Woody Shows Up." He is delightful as always :) I'm also anticipating
a new Niles and Daphne episode and I DO want them to get together (eventually
although not in the too near future). I think that the "First Date" episode
quelched Niles' desire to advance the relationship a bit because of what
Daphne said about never getting involved with a married man. I don't think
he'll try to advance the relationship until his divorce is final. Oh, he
still wants her and does his love struck boy routine but I don't think it
will go beyond that until his divorce is in the past.

I know I said I wasn't gonna do this, but there's only a few, I think you can
all live through them. Besides, I'm one of those people who needs to do
certain things to feel "complete."
:-) So without further delay, here they be:

FAVE QUOTE:

Frasier: Well, I hope he remembers to courtsey before the
dairy queen!

OTHER QUOTES:

Frasier: Wait, I've got an idea!

Frasier: I told you Roz, just leave it to the master.

Frasier: ....not half as bad as that tone-deaf
preformance by the aptly named Ms.
Singapore.
Frasier: Roz, you're gonna chew that nail right off, stop it!
Daphne: She's her own little rainforest.
Frasier: <<laughs>>

Roz: I'm currently an unwed mother. What would you call me?
Daphne: Tramp!
Frasier: Daphne!

Daphne: Ms. Finland just laid out a plan to end world
hunger and I missed it!

Frasier: (does he call Roz??) Lammy (??).

Martin: Do you know how many metric tons of eggs Wisconsin
produces every year?
Frasier: No.
Martin: Well *I* do!
Frasier: Oh.

Martin: ....I'll kill you in your sleep, goodnight.

Martin: ....her voice is still echoing in my head
Frasier: Yes it's like a fairy tale over here too.

(Haha, that NBC paint thingy!)

Frasier: ....the one that doesn't react when his arm touches
the steamer nozzle.

Frasier: Saturday, he's made plans to uh, drive Duke, to Tacoma
(sp.) for that all day....TocomaFest.

Roz: Is there any reason why that won't work?
Frasier: Not that I can come up with!

Niles: I see you told Roz the news and she went insane.

Niles: I have to watch the super bowl?!

Frasier: He is first and foremost a gentlemen. (That just
didn't sound right to me.)

Martin: Well, I guess she wasn't, everybody's still awake.

Frasier: Until I got out of high school, I didn't know there
was any other way to feel in a locker room. (I totally missed
that til I saw it a 3rd time. LOL!)

Frasier: ....but now is not the time. <<ding dong>> NOW is
the time.

Frasier: It's like a date, but not a date.

Martin: You know! Like a date, but not a date!

Frasier: ....for ONE super bowl? What is that an HOUR out of
your life?!

Niles: Hot dig-itty.

Niles: ....something formally ham. (How rude! And gross, but
rude!)

Bonnie: I musta gone through a whole roll of toilet paper.
(Awkward stare.)

Niles: Frasier, can I see you in the kitchen?

Martin: Frasier, can I see you in the kitchen?

Frasier: Now, now, no private conversations, your dates are
waiting.
Martin: They're not our dates!
Niles: We HATE them!

Frasier: Dad, if you would like, you can discreetly take
Bonnie aside and tell her what's going on.
Martin: Bonnie! Can I tell you somethin'?
Frasier: I SAID DISCREETLY! (LMAO!!!!!!!)

Frasier: Now dad, don't you get fresh with Niles' girl there..
Martin: I won't if he won't.

Martin: Kind of a goony looking thing isn't she?

Martin: He stuck me with her again!

Bonnie: I mean, no offense Marty, but....
Martin: Hey, you don't hafta tell me.

Niles: I'll be at the movies!

Frasier: Last thing we need today is another awkward
situation.
Martin: Woh-ho-ho-ho, Roz! Knock will you?

(I liked this scene:)

Frasier: Can you come in for a bit?
Roz: I really shouldn't.
Frasier: Roz.

Frasier: I was just thinkin'. If we wanted to play it safe, we could make one
of those, uh, pacts.
Roz: Oh you mean, like, in 40 years, if niether one of us finds anyone....
Frasier: Yeah, uh, exactly. We could marry each other.
Roz: I was gonna say *kill* each other.
Frasier: Well, (WHAT DOES HE SAY THERE??????)

Aw, you left out the best part of this one!
Frasier: And then, Sunday is no good
because...because...
Roz: Because Sunday is the Superbowl.
Frasier: Oh, of *course*, that's right,
Sunday is the Superbowl!

That just killed me!
He has about as much idea when the
Superbowl is as I do, for crying out loud!

Couldn't agree more, and also (British perpsective here) Niles doesn't seem
to be getting the cutting gags as often as he used to, he's almost becoming
the butt, the joke himslef. Which isn't the point. Every sitcom loses its
way eventually (possible exception Seinfeld), maybe this is the beginning of
the decline for Frasier?

Really? There was a line about Ms. Finland in "Frasier"?
Please someone fill me in on this one.

That was it. Daphne missed what she said and went to her room.
