Did anyone else almost "lose it" when they heard that line?

I don't think I have laughed so hard in months (well: since
Frasier went on hiatus in the spring :-)

I thought it was funny, and I missed the set-up entirely! What was the word
to have been originally? My guess is `Jung'...

I was on the floor, laughing! His woebegone expression was just too much
to bear.. and the pause before saying..'let me know where it hurt...'

I'm 99.99% sure it was, indeed, "Jung". Niles is the Jung specialist
whilst Frasier is
a Freud-based psychiatrist. The typo was, of course, "hung."

Yes, when Niles subbed for Frasier he stated he was not a Freudian, so
there would be "no blaming Mother today!" Lilith also used to give Frasier a
hard time about being "The Last Freudian" on Cheers.

It was supposed to read 'Young Specialist' but instead it read 'Tongue
Specialist' I'm sure of this !

It read "hung" instead of "Jung."

It was supposed to read Jung (pronounced young) and instead said Hung. Not
only are these the only two words that make sense, "j" is next to "h" on
the keyboard, making it an understandable error. It would take very bad
typing skills to use tongue for young!

I can solve this controversy once and for all. It was "hung" specialist.
Trust me, I worked on the script.

Although I live in UK and have not yet seen the episode in question, it is
obvious that the mistake is in the spelling of 'Jung'. Why on earth would
Niles advertsie himself as a 'tongue' or 'young' specialist as some
contributors seem to think?.

From reading the posts to this group it seems the show goes from strength
to strength and am looking forward to seeing thios particular episode.

And it was a brilliant one!! Niles, as 'hung' specialist.. Just the
thought gives me the giggles, not that I don't believe he may be hung ;-0
but the idea that the subject is even brought up...!! In the scene, I
mean.

Question: Is it technically "name-dropping" if it's your own name
getting dropped?

I am so tired of this ridiculous question. OF COURSE IT WAS JUNG
SPECIALIST. He is a psychiatrist for heavens sake and no doctor in this
world is going to take out an ad
saying he is a young specialist--what does he specialize in the young? And
if you think he meant he's young--he's not that young and it's not
necessarily something a doctor wants to advertize. Think about it!
