Hi everyone- this is my first ever posting here in the FK newsgroup, so
PLEASE don't yell at me if I'm doing it wrong.

I think that Schanke and Nick had better chemistry as not only partners,
but friends than Tracy and Nick. With time, Tracy kinda grew on me, but I
missed the kidding around betw. Schank and Nick. The fact that they worked
great with each other SCREAMS out at you especially now, when SCI FI
channel is airing the first and second seasons.

BTW- what is "use signature" that appears on the bottom of this screen?
And what is the difference between posting new message and reply to group?
Thanks.

Many Welcomes JuBee!!

First, I am an FoD ( That is, a Friend of Don Schanke), so naturally I
have a preference for the Schanke-Nick partnership. Basically Nick and Don
both have experiences and are good at what they do, only in different
areas. Don could handle his load of the work ( and sometimes Nick's too),
which is one thing I doubt that Tracy coud do for long, if well at all.
Don had a blind spot about his "wierd" partner, though he nearly put it
all together in "Close Call". Don was also ( to Nick) obnoxious but in
ways that drug Nick out of his idiotic angst. It was this strong character
mismatch that made the partnership work. Tacy's relationship with Nick,
OTOH, was more of a naive student unaware of her partner's true nature.
Don and Nick were equals, Tracy and Nick were student-mentor.

If Tracy found out Nick was a vampire, she'd probably think EVERYONE could
be vampires or assume that the Gothic-clad humans were vampires, or some
such nonsense. I think if Don had kept his cool when he figured out Nick
was a vampire and kept his knowledge discreet, once he regained his
equlibrium, he would have slowly hined to Nick that he knew and give Nick
enough time to tell his partner his secret, to trust that dear Ol' Skank
is a partner one can trust and depend upon. Oh sure, I can here some now
saying "Skanke would NEVER have the mental discipline to do THAT", but
remember that in police work, partners support one another. Crude and
annnoying though he may be at times, Don would not hesitate to protect his
partner's back.
