I'd like to know how many have even SEEN a full episdoe of Angel. I've tried a
few times but always lose interest in about ten minutes. I guess it's mainly
because I'm not too crazy about the guy who plays Angel.
I got hooked on FK pretty easily, probably because of Ger as Nick. Don't know
if I would have liked it as much if someone else was playing the role.
So, on that basis, I vote for FK.

I managed to sit through the ep of Angel where he becomes mortal - it was
one with Buffy in it, I think. Something about it just missed with me, I
don't know exactly what, but I gave it a whirl, and was even going to try
the next week but I just didn't get around to it.
I guess FK still stands #1 in my book.
Deb.
So you're saying that if the producers had gone with the other person they
narrowed it down to, Adrian Paul as Nick Knight wouldn't have done it for
you?
I've seen every episode of Angel and have to say that FK is a superior show.
The producers of FK knew exactly where they wanted to take the show.
The producers of Angel are lost in the woods and don't seem to know where
they want to take this character now that they have developed him.

I sat through about 10 of 15 minutes of one episode of Angel and then
changed the channel. It never really caught my interest. That's not to say
that it's a bad show, just that I don't particularly care for it myself.
So, for me Forever Knight would have to be the better show. ;-)
~Scarlett
I've watched the full seasons of Forever Knight, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and
Angel. I like all three shows, each for different reasons, and if I had to rank
them it would be in the order I already listed. Forever Knight is definitely a
more intelligent and multi-level show. You can take it at face value or watch
it from a deeper level. I find Buffy witty and entertaining - it's more
fantastical than FK. Angel is more of an action show -- I like action -- and
tends to stall when they focus on characters.

My sentiments exactly. Although Adrian has a perfectly beautiful face and body
his acting is unproven and as the latest "Breed" tv movie proved, lacking. In
comparison to Geraint Wyn Davies in FK....well there isn't any comparison.
JL
I never knew that Adrian was considered for the role. I think he's the only
other person I would have liked seeing in it.
I know he's the only reason I watched Highlander. Once, he left, that was it
for me.
Now, if he'd gotten the role of Angel, I'm sure I would have been all over
that. ;)
Out of 6 seasons, there were only 2 episodes in which Adrian didn't appear.
I think that if Adrian had landed the role, his Nick Knight would have been
a lot closer to Rick Springfield's.
That's quite possible. Rick can't act either. <g>

Wasn't AP tied up with Highlander by the time FK rolled around?
But Adrian's prettier. And I think the Scottish accent helps make up for the
weaker acting. Can't you just picture Nick with a ponytail, a Scottish accent
and a kilt?
Probably not. By the time HL premiered in early October 1992, FK had
already been on the air for five months (May 5, to be precise). I don't
know when HL started filming, but the first few episodes of FK were
almost certainly filmed in late 1991. Working backward from there,
casting for FK would have to have been done well before HL. Does anyone
here have more precise information?
Steve F.

Highlander began filming on July 13, 1992, and went to air on September 28,
1992.
I don't have the information for FK though.

I totally agree!! Geraint is IMO much more handsome and talented (I'm not
into AP). One reason they picked him from what I have read is because of his
experience in theatre and shakesphere, and of course his looks. Ger was
perfect for the accents and time changes as well. I couldn't see any one
else playing Nick Knight and I like the look of a blonde vampire. He is
supposed to be more good, so that adds to it too. ~g~

Hey it worked for the original, "Dark Shadows".
;-)
~Scarlett
It might be because Ger has an extensive theatre background and he has played a
vampire before (in the tv series Friday The 13th).
I think in terms of looks, Ger offered something different to the show; he's a
blonde vampire, different from the usual stereotypical tall dark-haired vampire
which AP would've played if he'd been offered the role. Also Ger has that boyish
optimist look that is needed to contrast against Nigel's Lacroix who looks
stern and stoic.
Just my opinion.
That was actually "Dracula the Series," quite funny and different than FK.
:)
I have some clips and images from it on my GWD page, if interested.
Btw, Kristin, thanks a million for putting those videos up on your site. I've

It is great. I don't have season 1 yet and have no assurance that
Showcase and VTV will renew in the fall.
K. Keep on with season 1
If you ever learn to use Agent and have a good newsserver, I post a
Forever Knight episode daily to alt.binaries.multimedia. I'm working
on Season 2 weekdays and Season 3 weekends.
Next 2 episodes will be
309 - Let No Man Tear Asunder
An autopsy reveals that a murdered woman's heart has been surgically
removed, prompting Nick and Tracy to investigate the black market for
human organs. Natalie and Tracy are at risk, having been chosen by the
organ hunter as the next donors.
310 - Night in Question
A lethal bullet wound to the head brings Nick to the emergency room
where doctors, unable to find a pulse, pronounce him dead. Lacroix
uses his vampire powers to retrieve him, and forces the attending
physicians to forget his "death." When he awakens, Nick suffers
amnesia and does not even know he is a vampire.
Then after that
220 - Beyond the Law
When two young women are murdered, a foreign ambassador becomes the
chief suspect. However, the police don't seem to be able to do much
about it -- so Nick decides to take matters into his own hands.
221 - The Queen of Harps
Nick fails to obtain a harp with magical properties tied to his mortal
past at an auction. All of a sudden, his actions are less than legal.
When the auctioneer is found murdered, Nick finds himself in a
precarious situation, caught between the harp's longing and his own
desires.
222 - Close Call
When Nick saves Schanke's life during a fire fight, Schanke can't help
but notice that Nick has taken up flying. Despite Nick's hypnotic
suggestion to forget what he saw, Schanke begins investigating Nick's
past. Natalie can't deflect him, and Janette's attempts to hypnotize
him fail. The trail soon leads him to conclude that his partner is a
vampire, and from there to Lacroix. The question is, what is Lacroix
going to do with the inquisitive Schanke?
223 - Be My Valentine
A Valentine's Day killer terrifies Toronto. With the terror and the
emotionally charged nature of the "holiday," anything could happen.
224 - The Code
Schanke's ex-partner Delehanty shows up, bragging about his rich,
comfortable and "warm" life in Arizona. Schanke begins to think
Arizona might be the place to be.
and so on.
I dont have a clue what happens at the end of the season 2, whether
they go on to 3 or stop. Ditto for the Season 3 run. Not a clue.
Hope you guys have a Good Knight!

I'm on the alt.binaries.multimedia newsgroup but practically all the messages I
see are in binaries. What is this Agent software and how do you use it? I have
been using a friend's computer with DSL connection to download some of the bigger
files on Kristin's site. I have a 56K modem at home so I'm sort of looking for a
faster way to download the eps. Any info would be appreciated.
Zarina
Set it up and figure it out. You need it to get binaries properly.
Then when you have it all figured out, you will dump what you're using
now (prediction...)
Posting 3-09 in 10 minutes. Yes, you need DSL!!! 450 megs/day cant be
done on a dialup.
>Oh man, guess I'll have to bug my friend again. Thanks for the info !
It is worth it. While I don't have ANY season 1 of my own (Thanks
Kristin!!) what I post is far higher quality, sharper, and vcdmpg
ready. You can burn my vcdmpg's on any burner software to make VCD's.
These can in turn be played on almost any home DVD player. So you can
watch Nick+Natalie on your widescreen TV set...
How I do it: I cap in a high rez AVI codec direct from the TV tuner
card, using AVI-IO, at a size of 352X240, which is NTSC standard, and
at a frame rate of 29.97, NTSC again, at 1150 kbps. The sound is
stereo 44,100 at 224 kbps.
Then I encode with the panasonic encoder set at NTSC VCD, and then I
edit the resulting mpg to eliminate the horrible beer and tampon
commercials.
Result: Really nice. Hard to tell from the original broadcast.
You need a good news server as well as speed. Enjoy! But practice with
Agent at home with your 56k dialup. There is a learning curve to using
it, but once you've been black, you never go back. Well worth the
effort, in other words~!
Ok, I notice you think your stuff looks better than mine but I have to
definately disagree. My "The Fix," which I did recently, looks just as sharp
but brighter (yours are a bit dark) and doesn't have any grain, as opposed
to the little bit I saw on yours. Your sound is also not quite as good.
Sci-fi also did not air season 1 as clearly as the first (incase that's why
you're thinking yours look better). My first season is clear, but not as
clear as the other two seasons and not as colorful. I didn't record it any
differently either. Also, what is your color display? My videos are meant
for True Color 32 bit and anything lower may look a little pixely. Of course
they look fine off the TV, very clear and "sharp." Please also note I
recorded my episodes off a Super JVC VHS (top of the line VCR). They're
about the best lookin you can get (since those jerky powers that be won't
release FK professionally)...
To the FKers downloading my episodes, "False Witness" will be up asap. I am
having some difficulties with the server lately.
Fine off TV? Maybe. I didn't make a VCD disk yet. I've been told that
overriding the message that says it aint no VCD will produce a VCD
that works in some players.
What I'll do is convert your stuff to VCD Ready MPG and post it. Your
frame size is 32 pixels short vertically, the video rate is wrong, as
is the audio and system clock reference. Your frame rate is OK :)
What options do you have with AVI - IO in video settings/format? There
should be a large choice of codecs and sizes. You also have to select
a device. AVI - IO works fine with an ATI cap card. With your card,
I'm not sure.

Yeh, they look great off the TV too (we have a special big Sony TV that has

They are VCD Ready. Try using Easy CD Creator and make sure you are
downloading the right stuff. Last time you downloaded dkclip.mpg (which is a
sample clip in a different area) opposed to dk.mpg (in the whole episodes

As I said they *are* VCD ready.

I'm not trying to get in the middle of your discussion of downloadable
episodes (thank you both, by the way), but I thought perhaps I should
point out that the lower picture quality of season 1 probably isn't
Sci-Fi's fault. During the first year, Paragon (the Toronto company
which handled day-to-day filming of the series) used lower quality film
stock to save money. After all, what's the point of using good film for
a series that's on in the middle of the week in the middle of the
night(*) and nobody's ever heard of it?(**) Fortunately for us, when
arrangements were being made for the second season, Tele-Munchen (which
distributed the show in Europe and provided some production funding)
insisted that higher quality film be used because first season didn't
look good enough on European HDTV sets. Since they wanted
Tele-Munchen's money, better film was used for the next 2 years.
And you probably thought those logos in the closing credits didn't mean
anything. :-)
(*)When FK aired on CBS it was on Tuesday night/Wednesday mornings at
12:35 a.m. Eastern, though some stations (including mine) delayed it for
an hour or more past that, and some didn't carry it at all.
(**)Ok, almost nobody: If I recall correctly, Forever Knight was the
highest rated of the Crime-Time After Primetime shows, even beating out
Silk Stalkings, which ran for several years (4? 5? something like that)
on USA Network after CBS cancelled it.

Wavy lines .. guess I can live with it. T.I.N.A. But everyone I've
asked has said your stuff is too bright..Maybe that's what they have
contrast and brightness controls for. But no, tape is never as good as
a direct capture. There is an extra level of processing. Taping is
analog, and ferrites&chromium oxides degrade, and are no match for
digital direct storage.

Yes! Apologies, partial, on this point. OK You are right about this.
At least the frame size. Your audio is off, though. I ASSUMED without

But no, they are NOT universally VCD ready. Only MPG made to Whitebook
specs are universally VCD ready.

Do you have a TV tuner on your card, or in your computer? As for
"digital" recording, that's a redundancy. Everything recorded on a

Yes you have, This one. And it's a MINOR complaint about the format
you are producing, NOT a complaint about you. Understand the
distinction?
Not everyone has your DVD player setup. Or software.
Just because a non-standard VCD with some of the rates and specs
straying from Whitebook PLAYS for you, is no assurance it will for
someone else.
Your DVD player is more forgiving than some.
Also, not everyone has Easy CD Creator. They may have any number of
proggies that will burn wonderful VCD's, but only of standard VCDMPG.
I also have a great DVD player, Easy CD, and almost everything.
Personally, I will have no problems with your format that I cant fix.

No, I'm not. IMHO, Rick can't act his way out of a wet paper bag. <g>

Marg <myto...@home.com>
There are SO many things I like better about the original Nick Knight.
Nick, while angsty, still had a little fun, and more of a sense of humour.
The theater was about 10 gazillion times cooler than the loft.
Black 1959 Caddie vs. Mint green 1962 Caddie....no contest
The mayan cup was cooler in NK
The Raven was also about 10 gazillion times cooler in NK, and they played
Yello.
Schanke was a lot more fun loving, and loose, plus he listened to the
Rivingtons, not Polka music
The precint was cooler, and didn't look as much like a set
Capt. Brunetti - better actor than Capt. Stonetree
The scene in the pool was just cool
As much as I like Nigel's LaCroix after the pilot, Michael Nader was just so
cool. Awesome voice, and delivery...plus he looked great. Much more
menacing I think.
I also like Dr. Jack Brittington MUCH more than Dr. Natalie Lambert.
I could probably go on like this <g>
That's one of the things I really liked about the first season of
_Forever_Knight_; they kept a wry sense of humor about Nick. His scene in
"For I Have Sinned" listening to Schanke's confession gets me every time.
>The theater was about 10 gazillion times cooler than the loft.
But the loft had remote-controlled shutters. And a remote-controlled
fireplace. Heck, he probably even had a remote-controlled *cat*.
>Black 1959 Caddie vs. Mint green 1962 Caddie....no contest
-=sigh=- You got me there. But I would be suspect of a cop who
could affored a black '59 Caddy; a cop who drives *any* mint green car
draws no suspicion. :)
>The mayan cup was cooler in NK
You got me there, too.
>The Raven was also about 10 gazillion times cooler in NK, and they played
>Yello.
There were some decent renderings of The Raven in the first season,
but nothing that matched up to _Nick_Knight_. I understand they
"borrowed" a nightclub for the series, and they were probably constrained
as to how much they could do with it to make it sufficiently cool-looking.
Of course, being the ilk I am (hetero male), I could easily have
wished for more sweet dark things to appear in the nightclub... but that's
what fanfic is for. :) And Yello certainly gets my vote, though I would
definitely have wanted some more obscure things as well ("Faith and the
Muse", if they could have worked them in, would have been *perfect* for
the third season episode "Queen of Harps"... they have a weird but
effective way of mixing Celtic and modern sounds in a moody, dark way. I
could go on -- it's a pet topic -- but I won't.)
>Schanke was a lot more fun loving, and loose, plus he listened to the
>Rivingtons, not Polka music
Again, first season. Granted, he was still more of a goof in the
first season of FK than he was in NK, but since he was to be a recurring
character that symbolized the mundane lifestyle that Nick so desperately
wanted, he had to become a little more... mediocre, I guess. Watch _I_
Dream_of_Jeannie_ and stuff.
>The precint was cooler, and didn't look as much like a set
Definitely. -=shrug=- Some elements of *prettiness* were
definitely more on the side of _Nick_Knight_ than the series.
>Capt. Brunetti - better actor than Capt. Stonetree
As much as I don't like to speak ill of actors and their proficiency
(or lack thereof), I have to agree with you. Without trying to sound
punny, Stonetree sometimes just came off as wooden. I never thought I
could learn anything *intriguing* about Stonetree's character, where I
would want to learn more. I think the only captain of the lot to get
*any* real character development was, regrettably, Joe Reese (third season
of the series).
>The scene in the pool was just cool
Speaking of which, one scene that I *really* liked -- probably
because I first saw it as a horny teenager who was just beginning to
*really* like the sensual/sexual nature of vampirism -- was when the
archaeologist Nick befriends leans back in the passenger seat to get some
kinks out of her neck and almost gets them both into an accident. :)
>As much as I like Nigel's LaCroix after the pilot, Michael Nader was just so
>cool. Awesome voice, and delivery...plus he looked great. Much more
>menacing I think.
Well, he was certainly more *overtly* menacing. I think of Bennett's
LaCroix as the sort of sinister evil that sneaks up on you and infuses you

Along those lines, here are some scenes I relished with Mr. Wyn
Davies that might have made me wince if Mr. Springfield had tried them:
* "For I Have Sinned": the first flashback when Nick was talking to
Joan of Arc. She tells him that she doesn't fear him, and with a
knowing grin and just a hint of fang, Nick whispers, "You should."
Brr. :)
* Same ep, Nick in the confessional with Schanke.
* "Last Act": Nick finally loses his temper with Carl and holds him
outside a window. "Tell me why you deserve to live! TELL ME WHY!"
* "Only the Lonely": the exchange on the street between Nick and Nat.
Nat:"You're so cold." Nick:"I'm dead."
* The end of "False Witness", as Nick and Nat are finishing a movie.
Nick:"Well, how can you cry about that, huh? It's not even about
real people." Nat:"It was so sad." Nick:"It's about a forty-foot
gorilla!" ...Plus, of course, Nick's bewildered look as Nat
throws popcorn at him.
* Just *too* many tense, powerful deliveries to mention individually,
especially to LaCroix in the second season.
* Would Mr. Springfield have even been able to *do* "Curiouser and
Curiouser"?
Anyone else? Or any other favorite scenes by favorite actors?
Absolutely FK with GWD. Maybe in several years Angel will
find it's footing, but it's not there yet.

Can't argue with that.... <g> However... you think Ger could give Rick a run
for his money in the singing department?
BTW... if you saw the 10/15 ep of "Angel", did any of you have an FK flashback

I've never heard Rick sing so I can't compare directly, but Ger has
quite a decent singing voice. He's of Welsh extraction, after all. <g>
You can hear him sing on his CD "Bar Talk" sold through his fan club or,
if you are lucky enough to get a copy of the video, he sang in the
Rodgers & Hart musical, "The Boys From Syracuse" at Stratford, Ontario
in 1986. He's also an accomplished pianist and composer as you saw in
FK.

Good question. The closest I ever came to seeing Ger sing was in
that episode in which they flashed back to Nick as a guitarist at
Woodstock. ("Dying for Fame", perhaps?) He was booed off the stage and I
never got to hear him stretch his vocal cords.

If you check the credits, that wasn't Ger doing the singing in that ep.

Marg <myto...@home.com>
What are you talking about?? He is one of the best. I put him up
there with Anthony Hopkins.
I've been a vampire admirer for nearly 60 years, and Nick was the best I've seen.
The early Dracula type films contained no realism, and Angel is closer to a
Saturday-morning comic than a vampire show. When Angel split off, I hoped he'd
move into the FK mold, but unfortunately no. Angel & Buffy just don't have the
superb writing and producing of FK.
As for Nat, I liked her because she provided realism and warmth which contrasted
Nick's mixed darkness and human frailty. As a cop, he was realistic, showing that
cops have real lives and girlfriends, and problems. LaCroix provided real
darkness but from time to time let a little caring show through. He wasn't quite
as tough as he let on. The 1st season was the best, the second season weaker, and
in the third season you could see that they were on their way out.
Anne Rice's vampire series is good, and tends to fit into the classic vampire
mold. Her vision is more or less compatible with FK and the two of them merging
would be tremendous. Her "Queen of the Damned" could easily fit into the FK theme
as could several other of her books. I can see GWD fitting into many of her
characters. As far as Buffy goes, the "Watchers" could fit into Anne Rice's
"Watchers-Historians". And FK's LaCroix could fit her Illuminati concept.
Just some thoughts from a confirmed vampire watcher.

Hi Vern. Just a comment on the sets. You're talking about interiors
for the most part, right? I don't know a thing about those.
As for exteriors, the Raven was really the club on Elm St. It was
between Yonge and Bay, on the south side of the street. East of
University Ave., damn right!
The warehouse (outside) was near the foot of Broadview, street address
being somewhere around 100 Broadview, give or take 40-ish. A friend
was a warehouse worker there in some company that supplied garbage to
Niagara Falls souvenir shops.
Now, the exterior of the Coroner's was really the exterior of the
Coroner's, on Grenville St., between Yonge and Bay. In the show, the
sign even says Coroner's and has the Ontario government logo on it. (I
was a courier when I was going to school. Know this one really well.)
Again, don't have the slightest idea about interiors.
I THINK the police station (exterior) was a building on College just
west of university, on the south side, but I'm not sure about this one
at all. Sometimes I think its a building on Lakeshore diagonally
opposite the Molson's factory. Does anyone know this one?
Any other famous sets (exteriors)? The church where Nick had to
overcome his fear of the cross to rescue that woman was St. James
Cathedral.
In the show, Nick was in some unspecified city, assumes to be
American, wasn't he? But the writers snuck in references to Toronto
that only a local would catch.
In the ep I'm trying to remember, he wasn't even *pretending* to
sing. He (as Nick) would have, I suppose, if he hadn't gotten booed off
the stage.
Was there an episode in which Ger (as Nick) *did* pretend to sing?
The show was set in Toronto, and they made numerous references to being in
Toronto and Canada over the course of all three seasons.
In many interior shots of the FK police station......American flags in
the FK police station. lol If the show internally stated the FK city
as Toronto, why the stars and stripes? Rather maple-leaf and red-bar
deficient, that flag. Is there one episode where they actually say
outright what city they're in, as opposed to references thrown in by
clever writers, that only a local would catch.? I have the first half
of season 1 and all season 2 except the last 2 shows. Give me an
example I can verify and I'll agree with you. An episode title and
approximate time.
I was on a tour of 52 Division Police Station in Toronto. I've been in
others to swear out complaints. In none of them can you find foreign
flags.
I think it's a generic city they aimed at, for American viewership
reasons. And in Tracker they did what they did in Due North. Toronto
is Chicago.
I'll be honest... I don't remember a single instance where the
interior of a police precinct sported an American flag. Granted, they
referred to them as "precincts" (an Americanism -- I've been told that the
Canadians call them "divisions"), but I don't remember *any* flag on the
set, never mind one from the US.

The opening theme of every episode of all three seasons shows the CN
Tower, and anyone with an inkling of landmarks in various cities would
know that that's Toronto. I don't think they made any effort to hide it.
For that matter, how many times in "Streets of San Francisco" did
Karl Malden say, "Well, here we are again in San Francisco"? If the title
bit didn't tip people off, it would seem unnatural and stilted to have one
of the characters *say* it.
>I was on a tour of 52 Division Police Station in Toronto. I've been in

As police stations in the US never seem to have Canadian flags -- but
neither do they perforce possess US flags in plain sight in the building's
interior.
>I think it's a generic city they aimed at, for American viewership

Well, I'd certainly agree that the average American might come away
thinking that, since my impression is that the average American is
klewless about the geography of cities outside the US -- and might even
have trouble distinguishing the skylines of some of our own cities. I
don't think that that means that the location was meant to be hidden,
however, or that the only way one could know it was Toronto was by inside
references.

OK. But The guy with the big nose said he was a detective with the
SFPD. Cars said SFPD. Badges said SFPD. The TITLE of the show said San
Francisco.

Yup. Never once does Nick Knight refer to himself as a Toronto
homicide detective.
Which episode(s)? I don't recall ever seeing an American (or Canadian)
flag in the station. However, I do recall seeing a photograph of Queen
Elizabeth on the wall in the station. Not something you'd see in the
US, but certainly something you might see in Canada.

All dialogue quotes are from memory and may not be exact; if someone
wants to check the episodes and correct me, please do.
The first season episode "Spin Doctor," in the last scene, when the
election result is announced: "Clifford Hyatt is the new mayor of
Toronto."
The second season episode "Queen of Harps," "When in Toronto, Lord
Delabarre is bivouacked at..."
The second season episode "Beyond the Law," "The ambassador is in
Toronto for trade talks."
The second season episode "The Code," Schanke says he's tired of "this
Canadian winter wonderland." In the same episode, "Hey Nick, gimme a
loonie." I've never been to Canada, but as I understand it, the loonie
(loony?) is a Canadian $1 coin. Not exactly something useful south of
the border.
In the first season episodes "Dark Knight" and "Dead Air," the radio
station call letters are CERK and CTOK respectively. US radio & TV
station call letters start with "W" or "K," not "C."
Toronto is also mentioned in "Dying for Fame," but I can't remember any
specific lines.
Shall I go on?

Sorry, JR, you are completely off on this one. I just spent 5 hours
today conducting an FK Tour of Toronto, so i know whereof I speak. The
film site for the Raven is a club at the corner of Richmond and Duncan
Sts, formerly called Stilife, now known as the Fluid Lounge. If you look
carefully at some of the stock shots of the Raven's steel door in 3rd
season, you can see "Fluid" written on it.
the club on Elm St that you are referring to is St George's Hall, now
known as the Arts & Letters Club. The Great Hall in that building was
used as the auction room in Queen of Harps and the alleyway and the
street in front of it were used for several scenes in Sons of Belial.
(Oh, and the club is actually on the North side of Elm street <g>)

Nick's Loft in 2nd & 3rd season was at 58 Broadview Ave at Eastern Ave.
The big water tower is a dead giveaway.

Right on.

Stilife was used for the interior of the Raven until it was bought out
and became a C&W Bar. After that, all interiors were located in the
studio.

The Police station in 2nd and 3rd season is the Saulter St Public
Library, on the corner of Queen & Saulter, not far from the Loft site.
I've got a list of over 80 sites for the 3 seasons, mostly culled from
scripts and call sheets. Unfortunately, a lot of these are quickly
disappearing under the wrecker's ball.

Still looking for an American flag. I'll get back on this. But if
there is an Ontario flag, then you're right and they're not passing
off Toronto as a generic American city like they are in most shows.
ALSO,
In the first 1/3rd of Father Figure, Episode 1-13, Nick is told the
Prime Minister was in town. In a US city they would have said, the
visiting Canadian or whatever Prime Minister.

If its a Toronto library I've been there. Doesn't ring a bell, even
now that I know where it is. Thanks!
Perhaps not by saying "Hi, I'm Nick Knight, Toronto homicide detective", but it
is made crystal clear in many, many eps. Not sure what show some folks have
been watching, but in FK they talk about the fact that they're in Toronto very
frequently, as well as mentioning the CN Tower and names of Toronto streets
regularly.
Becky
I used to do a lot of tours, but not as many recently. I've never made a
printed route because I seldom do exactly the same tour twice. It
depends on how much time the visitors have, if they can handle some
walking or not, where they are staying, if they are Knighties,
Natpackers, etc. Shortest tour I've ever done was 20 minutes, longest
was 8 hours.
I did help someone make a map of the site once, but that was a couple of
years ago and it's out of date now. Don't remember the URL offhand.
Anyway, to make a short story long, I lost my map. Are there still any
about?
Bye the bye, when comparing US vs. Toronto differences, quite often there
were references to the "QC". As far as I know, no US DA's are called "Queens
Counsel". Along the same line, there are numerous shots of Toronto city
cops.

I'm sure they mention being in Toronto at *least* once or twice too. It
really seems to me like they do so frequently. ;)
If I think of a specific instance I'll post it here!
I don't ever recall seeing *any* flags in the precinct but I could be wrong.
