Internet charity auction

Hi everyone --
A couple of months ago my friend Quinn and I hatched a plan to develop a
couple of nice items that could be auctioned off on the internet. This is
an opportunity for those who have missed some of the other charity
auctions at conventions to get something really special.
Quinn used her artistic skills, some episodes of Forever Knight, and her
snazzy high-tech computer to develop two items which I then took with me
to the Toronto Trek convention to have signed by Nigel Bennett. (Thanks,
Mr. Bennett!)

These items are designed to make Lacroix fans *drool*. Actually, they'd
make any Nigel Bennett fan drool. And as noted earlier, both of these
items were autographed by Nigel Bennett.
The first item is a matted composite graphic of "Lucius in Repose" on the
bed from the flashback from A More Permanent Hell. In the episode itself,
you never see all of Lucius on the bed on a single camera shot, but Quinn
is rather inventive. <g> (I love this shot. The toga... all the leg...
Whew! Even a Knightie like me can't help but start fanning herself over
this one!)
The second item is a computer mousepad with a collage of Lacroix shots on
it. It includes a smaller version of "Lucius in Repose" as well as a
silly shot of LC and Nick and three photos of NB as the Guide from the
episode Near Death.
Proceeds of this internet charity auction will benefit Children's
Hospital Foundation, which Quinn and I have been supporting through
various efforts along with many other FK fans.
If you have web access, I encourage you to visit the auction web site (URL
repeated in my .sig). If not, e-mail me *privately* (don't post a
follow-up message to the newsgroup, since who knows when I'll see it) at
<per...@wharton.upenn.edu> with the word AUCTION in the subject of your
message (so I can keep the auction mail sorted out). I'll send back some
more description of the items and an attached .GIF file for you to view.
Bids will be submitted to me via e-mail (in U.S. dollars) and once each
day I'll update the web site with the current high bids. If two people
send in an identical bid, the bid sent earliest will prevail. The auction
will close on Sunday, September 29 at noon Eastern time.
Since I know that at times this can be a skeptical group, if you have
concerns over the veracity of this offer or our own reliability, we can
send you personal references. Just e-mail me privately. Winning bidders
will be making their checks or money orders out to Children's Hospital
Foundation, not to Quinn or myself.
