I know that Amy Jo Johnson sings the Felicity Theme song on the Felicity
soundtrack. But does she really sing it in the opening of the show? Because it
does NOT sound like her.

That is not Amy Jo Johnson singing the theme song anywhere. It was a
soundtrack misprint. Just watch the VH1 movie, Sweetwater, and you'll
find out her singing voice sounds nothing like the vocalist for the theme.

That is wrong. This has been discussed before. Amy Jo DOES sing the theme song on
the soundtrack. Another woman sings it on the show. But, it seemed after the
soundtrack came out, the last couple of episodes had Amy Jo's version opening the
show. We'll see what version is included next season.

Amy Jo sings "Puddle of Grace" and not the theme song which is used throughout
the show and is also on the soundtrack. It is Judith Ober who sings the theme
song (written by JJ Abrams, producer) Everything is explained below.

AMY JO JOHNSON: "PUDDLE OF GRACE"
(Episode: "The Fugue")
ABRAMS: "It was used in a couple of scenes from 'The Fugue.' Julie wrote,
played, and performed it, so we got to see the evolution of the song itself.
It's a great, beautiful song that was played live onstage during the moment in
which Felicity is feeling lost and disconnected.

REEVES: "It's a very, very bittersweet song. Amy Jo has an achingly haunting
melody that captured the feeling. We're going to be using more of her songs
next season."

"THE FELICITY THEME"
ABRAMS: "I wrote the theme song with Larry Klein, an incredible producer,
songwriter, and bassist, who has played with everyone from Bob Dylan and Robbie
Robertson to Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman. It's sung by Judith Owen (Harry
Shearer's wife), who is recording an album for Capitol Records. Two weeks
before 'Felicity' was to debut, we still didn't have a theme recorded. I'd
already recorded my own idea for a theme song, but it didn't feel right, so I
called Larry and that was that. Six days later, Keri Russell was a guest on
`The Tonight Show,' and the band played the theme song. What a great feeling!"

Hope that helps,
Erin

Again, I will repeat....Amy Jo sings the theme song ON THE SOUNDTRACK!!!! I have
it. It is her. It is so much softer than the other woman's version. You can tell
right away when you hear it. I have no idea why they had Amy Jo sing it on the
soundtrack instead of Judith Ober (maybe contract reasons), but Amy Jo sings it on
the soundtrack. It's not a misprint, it's not Judith Ober, it is Amy Jo.
Aparently, Abrams is speaking of the theme song heard on the show itself, not the
soundtrack. I know this is confusing and I was confused when I first read all of
that, but once I bought the soundtrack, read that Amy Jo sang it and heard it, I
knew it was her version on the soundtrack only. Watch, next season they'll have
someone totally different and we'll all be confused again. :P

Thanks Monty. I am glad that you agree with me that that does NOT sound like
her. Everyone (on other Felcity forums) keep jumping on my a$$ saying it IS
her. I just wish I could find out who the singer really is.

People should not believe everything they read. In the CD booklet, "AJJ - Vocals and
Guitar" should have been under "Puddle of Grace." Even if it were at all possible for
her to change her singing voice like that, why would she agree to do it? I also don't
see why the official Felicity people would lie to us. I just wish there was a chat with
AJJ so we could finally clear up this disagreement.

HELLO?????!!!! Isn't anyone reading my posts? First of all, do any of you *have* the
soundtrack to be able to make these statements? I do. The version of the opening theme on
the soundtrack is so much different from the one everyone hears on the actual show. That's
because it is Amy Jo Johnson instead of Judith Ober. Amy Jo's voice is much softer than Ms.
Ober's deeper voice. If you had the soundtrack you would notice it right away. You say
people shouldn't believe everything they read. I agree. Buy the soundtrack, listen to it,
and *hear* the difference.

Yes, I have the soundtrack. If you read my post below, you'd see this
sentence: "In the CD booklet, 'AJJ - Vocals and Guitar' should have been
under 'Puddle of Grace.'" I've listened to the song many times, and I
know AJJ's voice(having heard her sing since the early days on Power
Rangers). AJJ's voice is softer, but the theme song on the CD is the same
version as on the show(except for being longer). If you do not want to
listen to reason, fine. I'm done on this subject.

First of all, you are assuming "reason" is your "opinion". Maybe you are right. Maybe it is a
mistake on the CD booklet. But that is your "opinion". It is also your "opinion" that the
version on the soundtrack is the same as the one on the TV show. My "opinion" is that it is
different. I agree with you that it would be nice to have the question answered by someone like
Amy Jo who would be able to tell us the truth. I am also done on this subject.

I am not sure who you are replying to. Which one, if any, do you think she
sings? Because I don't know or care about the soundtrack. The soundtrack means
nothing to me, not my kind of music. All I wanted to know about is who sings
the opening credits for the SHOW. And it isn't Amy Jo Johnson.
