That wasn't Jackie Chan?

No, Jackie came later (or at least, came later to North America).

Besides, this actor could actually speak English.

I may be wrong about the Magnum connection. He only guest starred there.
Yet I can see the actor playing a nice guy on some show, this is going to
nag me. He's also played some "bad guy" roles, ie in the Japanese army
during WWII.

It was Clyde Kusatsu, the name doesnt' ring a bell, but his face does.

In article <alpine.LNX.2.02.1...@darkstar.example.org>,
Clyde was the cop on Magnum that talked like John Wayne.

That's what I thought, but imdb didn't make any deal about that role.

It was like a prequel to Magnum, since he was on, but so was Rick.

And TC was on The Streets of San Francisco this weekend. :D

I noticed that too, but it didn't seem to fit the conversation.

The first time I saw Roger Mosley was in the movie "Leadbelly" about
the folksinger, I must have seen it in 1974 or 75. I've never seen it
since, but I remember watching Magnum and realizing it was the same actor,
yet he looked so different. In the movie, he comes across as much bigger
than on Magnum.

He also played the M.E. in the pilot and was the thorn in General Hue's
side in "Memories Are Forever." There may have been more, but I'd have
to cheat and go to IMDb to find out.

That was a reference to a Family Guy ep in which they moved to "Asiantown" and
Peter thought everyone was Jackie Chan.

For some reason I thought he was Arnold from "Happy Days" or the guy from
"Karate Kid".
