Does anyone know why there is a rivalry between these two? I recently got the
dvd's of the Clerks cartoon and they had some unkind things to say about him
and Family Guy. Personally, I enjoyed both shows and think they both got raw
deals. Since I like them both, I'm curious to know why they don't get along.

They've never met. Kevin has an insane superiority complex that he tries to
cover up with self-deprication humor.

Clerks sucks bigtime. I used to take sleeping tablets, but save myself a lot
of money now by downloading Clerks episodes. I fall asleep each time.

Smith has unkind things to say about lots of people. Some serious issues going
on with him.

Clerks was funny stuff. I'd love to see more than just the 6 episodes that
are out there. But that will never be...

Kevin Smith and "Clerks" co-writer Dave Mandel hate Seth MacFarlane and "Family
Guy" because MacFarlane is a no-talent hack and "Family Guy" is the worst show
in the history of television. That's about the extent of it.

Glad to hear someone else say that. I couldn't stand it. It was way
too insane, and not in a good way. It just seemed rather hackneyed
and less than what it could have been. My opinion, of course.

Ah, still here are we? Be sure to let us all know when you find a life;
although since FG has been cancelled and you're still ranting about it, I'm not
holding my breath on that one...

few years..

Wow.
Sounds like Smith's minions have some issues, also.
How many "Clerks" episodes were there...6?...yeah.
Back to your parents' basement, loser.

Speaking of parents' basements, you guys might want to try leaving yours for a
while so you can help Seth MacFarlane move into his parents' basement. He's
probably going to need the help, as his car was probably repossessed.

Wow, this is amazing. Am I the only one that likes both Smith and MacFarlane?
It seems to be treated as you can only like one or the other in here.

I like "Clerks thru Chasing Amy Smith", am indifferent to "Dogma Smiith" and
hate "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Smith" . .. :)

It is just that "internet hate" acting up again. I found myself working way
to hard all through January and had barely enough time to check me email,
let alone surf the web. Next thing I knew, I liked about ten times as much
things as I did before. It is the nature of the beast to post about
negative feelings as they provoke a stronger, more active, reaction. Things
you like just kinda calm you down.

Yeah I like them both!

Just like you're probably a real social winner, what with your internet
petitions and obsessive hate campaigns. But since you're a Kevin Smith acolyte,
shouldn't you know better than to post stereotypical snotty fanboy rantings on
the internet?

Maybe, but "Family Guy" is always an exception, as it's a crime against comedy
and more importantly, a crime against humanity.

I'm curious. Please give an example of a TV comedy that you find to be very
good.

I actually like them both, also.
It just seems that Smith's work is funny when only I'm drunk, and
MacFarlane's is funny only when I'm sober.
It's the difference between a limerick and a fart.....
Guess which is which, basement-boy.
