I just read about the convention on the fan site and had to wonder why Julie London did not attend she was living at the time. I realize that by the time the convention was held Sam Lanier and the guy who played Captain Stanley were both deceased by the time. I figure the convention had to be one pf the final public appearance for Mike Stoker and Bobby Troup. Troup died the next year. I thought Stoker had died in 1997 but this evidently was not the case i figured it must have been late 1998 then. I do wonder why London was absent she didn't pass away until 2000. All other cast members are still living today (January 2017). I think another convention could and should be held before the elderly Robert Fuller passes away. sure most of the higher ups and guest stars are deceased but of the credited cast only Lanier, Stoker, Troup, and London are confirmed deceased. I have reason to believe that the guy who played Vince Howard is deceased as well.
I discovered Emergency! less than a year ago and LOVE IT! i already own Seasons 4-6 on DVD plus the Final Rescues DVD of the 6 telemovies. I have many, many, many questions as i am the inquisitive detail loving type i wanna know how EVERYTHING was done in terms of all the rescues and medical procedures, I also notice a ton of details and while i skip some episodes for annoyance reasons (i have this thing with TV romance, dumb comedy, and pranking that i cant handle) I notice EVERY detail although i have yet to distinguish the vehicular inconsistencies as i am not a vehicles person. Anyway i tend to ramble on and i really should end this. I am quite a talker with a lot to say.

Both Mike Stoker and Michael Norell (Capt. Stanley) are still alive as far as I (and Google) know. Perhaps Julie London wasn't at conventions due to ill health? Didn't she have a stroke?

I realized my error in info after further reading. Why then did Norrel also miss the convention? i think that another convention could still be held sine i realize we are only down the directors/producers, some of the other notable crew, Troup, London, and Lanier as far as i know and i have reason to believe Vince as well. If it's gonna happen i would hurry up before we lose Robert Fuller who is rather elderly. The remaining cast is aging but are only in their late 50's-60's-early 70's where as Fuller is nearly 85 i believe.

On another note, I have tons of questions but this one stands out, Why was Ron Pinkard never given "star" billing when the remade the theme song for Season 3 he had every bit as a right to that billing as Troup, London, and Fuller did since he quickly matched their involvement level in Rampart Scenes. I also think Vince should have been elevated to recurring instead if just guest star by the 3 or 4th season along with Betty the assistant head nurse. I also think crediting Boot and the dog that played Henry would have been appropriate. starting with the 4th or 5th season Brice should have had a steady actor and been labeled reccuring. The other firefighters are fine as secondary main characters (the step down from stardom)

after further reading i think we oughta beware of Lopez, Norrel, and Stokers rapidly advancing ages as well in addition to fuller and Stoker is 75 years old, Norrel is nearly 80, Lopez is nearly 82, and Fuller is nearly 84. Mantooth, Tighe, and Donnely are all 71-73 years old born between 1944-1945, as is already known no information regarding Vince Howard is available and Sam Lanier, Bobby Troup, and Julie London have all been deceased for many years

Julie suffered a stroke in 1995 and didn't do much by way of public appearances due to ill health in the five years between the stroke and her death. (She actually died on what would have been Bobby's 80th birthday in 2000). I would LOVE to see another convention or reunion, however with Michael Norell and Randy Mantooth both having health problems as well as Bob Fuller's age, I'm not sure if we'll get to see that happen.
I'm a huge fan of the show, and have been for a few years now. Like you're describing, I've made it my mission to learn all I can about the show and the cast, particularly Julie London and Bobby Troup. If you ever want to talk about the show (I can answer a surprising number of questions), feel free to email or google message me!
