And makes "her" time stranded in the forest with Lili particularly kinky
(they crashed together when a virus uploaded by auger effected more of taelon
technology than they were wanting, and they bonded in the typical "save each
others life" way)
So that's "typical"? I need to take women shuttle-crashing more often! :^)
I believe it was stated by Sandoval very very early in the show
when he was talking to Boone that the Taelons are neither male or female
but that humans (at least English speakers) use "he" as a convience.

<I know Da'an is supposed to be male.>
No. As established very early in the series, Taelans do not have sexual
distinctions such as male and female. And yet the humans (including Lili)
persist in referring to Taelans in masculine terms.
Which I find very interesting. Although many Taelan qualities are "feminine"
why do humans choose to refer to them as masculine. Possibly because they are
viewed as "powerful and superior" beings?
Which I find amusing, because ALL the Taelan roles are played by women.

Da'an had never heard of a shuttle running out of gas before....
I think that it's not important . In effect, the Taelons are an evolved race .
We know that their body is an energetic one, so it seems probable they have no
sex : they can be androgyn

Da'an had sex with Lili in one episode, but I don't remember which one.

Dennis,
It has beem established in the show that all Ta'lons
do not have males or females. They are a one
sex race.
Da'an itself is played by a woman, Leni
Parker.

I would be surprised to find otherwise, but I don't think it's actually been
stated as an informed opinion. Conceivably, the Taelons we've seen may have
genders after all, or there may be other genders among the Taelons we haven't
seen yet.

I thought that Da'an said this was a manner by which Taelons
shared INTIMACY. While we use intimacy and sex interchangably -- they
are actually quite different...

How do you know that is true for the Taelons?

It seems to me that sex is to the taelons what the appendix is to
humans. You would have to have genders for sex, because after all,
it's about reproduction. The taelons are genderless; as Sandoval said,
the pronouns "He" and "She" don't really apply. As matter of fact, the
show hasn't even broached the subject of how taelons reproduce and
where are the taelon children. Seems to me the answer to that question
might reveal something about what the taelons are doing here.

Even Sandoval explained that neither "he" or "she" is accurate, but
"he" is used as ease of reference.
