Vocal, to be sure. The lyrics are included with Mr. Gross and his music
partner David Keeley's album _Two Houses_ as it is the leadoff song on
that collection.

I was born north of Great Slave, 1898
And I rode near all my life on a ranch near Devil's Gate
And I've seen this world about me bend and flip and change
Hey, it feels like rain -- that's a thunder cloud
We'll, I could be a coward but I've seen two world wars
And I lost my son Virgil, my Korean reward
And my Lucy died last summer -- you ask me if I cry?
Hell, I'll show you tears, they're all over this ground
They're falling from these blue alberta skies
And I'm going to ride forever
You can't keep horsemen in a cage
Should the angels call well it's only then
I might pull in the reins
And They tell me I'm an old man, they tell me I am blind
They took my driver's license, this house ain't far behind
I say jump back all you big suits 'cause you've got something wrong
I ain't gone, no I ain't gone
I am still breathing and I still have my pride
And I have my memories, your life it never dies
Like the wind that blows in thunder
Or the stallion on the fly I got it all
And I'm standing tall; underneath these blue alberta skies
We're going to ride forever
You can't keep horsemen in a cage
Should the angels call well it's only then
I might pull in the reins
So I say to all you old men don't let yourself get broke
If you think the world's gone crazy and it's
Scratching at your throat
It's time to dust off that old saddle, get it on a horse
Kick up your spurs, we're gonna run like stink
We're gonna tear across these N. Dekota skies
I'm gonna ride forever
You can't keep horsemen in a cage
Should the angels call well it's only then
I might pull in the reins
we're gonna ride forever
You can't keep horsemen in a cage
Should the angels call well it's only then
I might pull in the reins
we're gonna ride forever
You can't keep horsemen in a cage
Should the angels call well it's only then
I might pull in the reins

I can't believe you've never heard this song!! Yes, it's got vocals. If you
want the lyrics, can you e-mail me for them? I can't be bothered to type
them all out here!! (Hard days at college do this to me!!!)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the eppy, it's my favourite (but then we haven't
got the third series over here in the UK yet), however I should probably
give you TDL warnings!!
BYEEE!

...There are only three types of people in this world - those who can count and those who can't.
There have been replys to this, even the lyrics (which I did not check for
accuracy) - but they will be available on the "Two Houses" web site, along
with a tease of the recording (about 1 minute). Check the site
(www.grossandkeeley.com) this weekend as they will be added just as soon as
I get them done.

It's Actually a vocal piece and you can find it on the DS soundtrack.
Unfortunately, I dont have the words. :(
I'm sure someone out there has them.
All the best!
Sue
Ahem!
I live in Australia so things coming out here come almost as late as they do
in Israel.
Due South merchandise here is also as rare as hen's teeth!
IS IT A SIN!?
;) Don't worry I'm not ticked with you.
I couldn't help but notice a few errors in the lyrics. Only one major one
and all the rest are forgivable.

That's nitpicking!!!

Well apart from the fact that Dakota is spelt wrong, both versions of the
song exist. I think North Dakota was the original writing and when the
decision was made to use the song on Due South, it got changed to Alberta...

Well actually North Dakota skies is a line in the *original* version of
the song, which PG wrote before the series came into his life, and which
I believe he has performed at the Juno Awards. There is another major
difference in the original version of the song; the son's death is a
Vietnam reward. In adapting the song for Due South, PG changed the lyric
to Korean since that was the last war in which Canadian soldiers were
killed in battle. Of course this ignores the fact that several thousand
Canadians joined the US armed forces as volunteers and served in Vietnam.
