I'd love to see a sequel to the "The Talented Mr. Ripley!" I would call it
"Ripley Rainy Day." You saw Marge confronting Tom near the end of the movie,
"Why do I believe there's never been a Ripley rainy day!" Remember when Tom told
Marge "I hope this note goes in your purse for a rainy day!" That's how I came
up with the title for the sequel.

I would love for the major cast to return: Matt Damon (Tom Ripley), Jude
Law(Dickey Greenleaf), Gwyneth Paltraw (Marge Sharewood), & Cate Blanchett
(Meredith Logue), & Director Anthony Mangella (In Anthony's interview, he said
he would never redo "The Talented Mr. Ripley!" again if he had to because of the
difficult & genuine work they had to present about Italy & Jazz. We can only
hope he will change his mind. I loved the movie & all that Jazz! In fact, I
started liking Jazz with Matt Damon's version of "My Funny Valentine" & several
other pieces presented in the movie. The entire movie was a true masterpiece!

Here's how the sequel would go: On her journey from Rome to Mongibello on a
ship, Marge is determined to nail Ripley to the wall! She is accompanied by
Herbert Greenleaf (Dickey's father) and tells him she is planning to go back to
Rome to find the answers! As she steps out of a cab in the familiar streets of
Rome, she bumps into a "familiar face!" "Dickey!" was her shocking ! As you know
Tom killed Dickey, but the "familiar face" is actually that stranger in the
restaurant Tom saw who uncannily resembles Dickey Greenleaf! In this sense, Jude
Law would once again resume his role as "Dickey Greenleaf!" He's actually that
stranger in the alley who would be playing along as Dickey so he can "resume"
his luxurious life!

Meanwhile, Tom heads back to America in a ship from Rome. Here we last heard
Peter Smith Kingsley's take his last few breaths! Audience was made to believe d
that Ripley choked & killed him, but Peter yells for help so loud Ripley hears
him in the basement! Even Meredith Logue recognizes the familiar voice! She
finds Peter and he spills the guts on Ripley! Peter is lucky to be alive. Peter
& Meredith get a hold of Marge on the phone. Marge, "Dickey", Peter, Meredith, &
Herbert Greenleaf vow to make him pay! The suspense in the sequel is as powerful
as in the original "The Talented Mr. Ripley!"

Again, Mangella brings Italy & All That Jazz back to life. Wouldn't that be
something!

I loved Philip Seymour Hall as the friend. Didn't he drown or somehow
die in the film or am I mistaken? He was so excellent in that role....
such a haughty, snobby, piece of work to counterbalance the tempermental
Dickey and the perplexed, oddball Tom .

He is so diverse from role to role; such a chameleon of an actor. I'd
love to meet that man. He's not all that good looking, really, but he
literally charms my socks off with his versatility and depth. He's never
disappointed me in a single role. Loved him in "Happiness", "Boogie
Nights","Almost Famous", and the one where he was Robert DeNiro's drag
queen neighbor, too. He is excellent.
