Are you kidding? That makes too much sense and we're talking about days here.

I started out with nothing...
and I still have most of it left.

And why were the Rene's that were stolen from Ms. F's house painted over if
they are in Stefano's possesion? Since nobody was going to see them anyway,
why would he have Gina paint over them which prevents HIS enjoyment also? None
of this makes much sense.

They did it for the simple reason that the writers are stupid.
That's the most obvious reason I can think of... tee!hee!

That would be the logical way of doing things . . . so of course they
wouldn't do THAT!!

It would never do, to have a copy made of the paintings, without a
three-month story to go with it!! . . . when did Stefano (or the writers of
DAYS) do anything that might be considered the least bit logical!?!?

WHO CARES? This whole storyline is SO ridiculous and SO lame that they
should just end it as painlessly as possible without taking up any more air
time. It make no sense and will continue to make no sense because it seems
to have NOT been though out very carefully in the first place. Just take
it for the far fetched farce that it is and maybe the writers will move on
to something more interesting. If you keep asking all these questions they
may figure that the viewers are really interested and drag the story out
more.
Being an artist myself, I was horrified when Stephano said he had those
priceless masterpieces painted over. Can you imagine the damage that could
do? Look at the trouble museums go through to protect the paintings they
have and Stephano just paints over them and hangs them in plain sight. Oh
those clever writers, what will they think of next?

The paintings needed to be painted over to be shipped out of the
country. If he were to ship them out as is, they would have been caught
as the art thieves. He needed PG to paint over them because he doesn't
want anyone to know that he has them in his possesion. PG is the only
one that knows he has them and can copy them.

Stefano needed Gina to paint it because she was the one that painted
over it. It would look more like the original if she was the one that
copied them.

That is were the writers are crazy. Maybe water color. But if they
want DOOL to be a pretend world then I haave no choice but to pretend
also if I want to continue to watch or I would go out of my mind.

I thought she was painting duplicates of all the paintings so Steffano
could have the originals, not painting over the good ones. Argh this is
too confusing . . .

If these were "priceless masterpieces" they would not have been painted over
under any circumstances. Art restoration is a painstaking process.
Although I am sure Stephano will just wipe the painting and it will be
restored. More nonsense for us to believe.

Stephano is having Gina paint copies of the fake paintings so they can be
put in place of the already painted over "prrrrrrriceless masterpieces."
You have to remember to roll your R's when you say this like Stephano does.

If a person paints over an oil painting with watercolors, the watercolor
paint can be washed off. Oil repels water and the whole process does
surprisingly little damage to the original painting if done correctly.
I read about this several years ago. Many paintings that were stolen
from Jews in Nazi times were smuggled out of the country this way. Just
a little info...This is one time the seemingly ridiculous stories the
writers come up with is actually accurate!!!

Gouash, even pastels probably, could be used.

Heck Jerry, if Rolf can implant memories and moodchanging devices, restoring
the paintings will be a snap.

Sorry, I keep forgetting that reality and logic have nothing to do with this
show. I am really getting sick of this show. It is like a badly written
comic book. There is a great ABC sictcom that just got canceled called
"Cupid." It is funny, touching, well written, great actors, great
plots.....everything that DOOL is not.

Yes, paintings CAN be painted over. Many of the old masters painted over
previous works because of the high cost of new canvas. They were found many
years later and restored to the original painting. I'm assuming they used oil,
just as the original was in oil. Maybe oil paint can be removed in layers.
Sorry, not an expert on this subject.

The only problem with this is that you can't paint over oil with watercolors.
They do not adhere nor are they opaque. The watercolors have to have special
paper to paint on...they'd run right off the oils. Tempra...maybe, but nobody
in their right mind could confuse a tempra painting with the real thing
