OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY
AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED BASED ON UNITED STATES LAW.
1. ELIGIBILITY No purchase necessary. Contest open to legal residents
of the United States age 18 and over. Employees, officers, directors,
agents, representatives and immediate family and household members of
any NBC affiliated TV station or website, and their parent, affiliate
and subsidiary companies are not eligible to win. Void where
prohibited. By participating, entrants agree to abide and be bound by
these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which will be
final and binding in all matters relating to this contest.
2. TO PLAY: Contestants may win by correctly answering a daily Daytime
trivia question on the NBC.com website. In order to qualify, entrants
must watch all three NBC soap operas and then visit the "Daytime Watch
and Win Contest" page at NBC.com website, located at
www.nbc.com/tvcentral/daytimedish/contest/index.html to learn the
trivia questions of the day. Entrants must answer all three questions
correctly in order to register to win. Entrants can hand-write the
questions (one entry per envelope) and their answer, along with their
name, address & phone ("entry information") and mail it to: Daytime
Watch and Win Contest, NBC Interactive, 3000 W. Alameda Ave. Rm. 2943,
Burbank, CA 91523.; or can submit their entry information and their
answer to the question on- line at
www.nbc.com/tvcentral/daytimedish/contest/index.html Contest begins on
July 27, 1998 and ends on July 30th,1998. All online entries must be
received by July 31st, 1998 at 11:59 p.m. P.S.T. Mail entries must be
postmarked by July 31st, 1998 & received by August 4th, 1998 at 9:00
a.m. P.S.T. A random drawing from all correct entries will be
conducted by NBC employees on August 5th, 1998 for the Grand Prize
Winner and First Prize Winners.
3. RESTRICTIONS: Entrants may submit multiple entries, but may only
submit one online entry per day. Mechanical copies or multiple mail
entries by other than human means are ineligible. Late, incomplete,
lost, destroyed, tampered with, postage due or entries otherwise not
in compliance will be disqualified. NBC and its affiliates companies,
TV stations and websites are not responsible for the failure of any
electronic equipment, computer transmissions and/or network
connections, any inaccuracies in information which may be used in the
contest, or for any technical or human error which may occur in the
processing of the entries. NBC and its affiliated TV stations and
websites reserve the right to discontinue the contest at any time, in
which event, prizes will be awarded based upon entries received by
that date.
4. PRIZE: One Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip for two to Los
Angeles, California or New York City at the Grand Prize Winner's
choice, coach airtickets for 2 from the major U.S. airport closest to
the Grand Prize Winner's residence to the Los Angeles or New York
area; three nights in a hotel of NBC's choosing in the Los Angeles or
New York area, and a guided tour of the NBC Soap Opera set of their
choice. If the winner chooses "Another World" a car service will be
provided to and from their hotel to the Brooklyn studios. All other
expenses not mentioned are excluded. Travel must be completed within 1
year of winning. If tours of the studio are unavailable, other
elements will constitute full satisfaction of prize obligation. All
travel restrictions and other restrictions apply. Value of the grand
prize is less than five thousand dollars ($5,000). Ten First Prize
Winners will receive NBC and NBC.com Merchandise, approximate retail
value twenty dollars ($20). Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of
the winners. Sponsor reserves right to substitute prize of equal or
greater value if advertised prize becomes unavailable. Limit one prize
per family or household. Prizes cannot be substituted, transferred or
redeemed for cash. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries
received.
5. GENERAL: Grand Prize Winner will be notified by telephone, other
winners by regular mail or e-mail. Grand Prize Winner must be
available at the telephone number provided or he or she will be
disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. First prize
winners must respond within five days or be disqualified and alternate
winners selected. All prize winners, and the travel companion of the
Grand Prize Winner must sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility
and Publicity/Liability Release, within five days of notification, or
prizes may be forfeited and alternate winners selected. By accepting a
prize, winners (and their traveling companions) release and discharge
NBC and its affiliated TV stations and websites and the sponsor of the
contest and their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and
promotion agencies, and all their respective employees, officers,
directors, representatives and agents from any liability or damage due
in whole or in part to the award, acceptance, possession, use or
misuse of any prize or from participation in this contest. This
contest is governed by these Official Rules. Each entrant warrants
that he or she has read, and agrees to abide and be bound by, all
contest rules and that her or she is not prohibited from participating
in this contest by any applicable law, statute, regulation or other
appropriate authority. By submitting a complete entry form, the
winners, except where prohibited, grant NBC and its affiliated TV
stations and websites and the sponsor of the contest and their
parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies
and all their respective employees, officers, director and
representatives the right to use the winner's name, likeness, picture,
portrait, hometown, voice, biographical information and written
submissions and written or oral statements, for advertising and
promotional purposes without additional compensation unless required
by law. All prizes claimed will be awarded to eligible winners. This
contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and
regulations. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. By submitting an entry, entrants
agree that all entries become the property of NBC and that NBC may use
the entries for all purposes, including reproduction, broadcast and
display on the Internet and in all media, including all forms of
television, and for advertising and promotion without additional
compensation unless required by law, and that you wil have no recourse
against NBC and its affiliated TV stations and websites or the sponsor
of this contest or their parents, affiliates and subsidiaries and
their respective employees, officers, directors, representatives and
agents for any alleged or actual infringement or misappropriation of
any proprietary rights in the entry. 6. COPY OF RULES/WINNERS LIST To
obtain a copy of the Official Rules and/or a list of the winners send
a S.A.S.E. to: Daytime Watch and Win, NBC Interactive, 3000 W. Alameda
Ave. Rm. 2943, Burbank, CA 91523.
