I was watching "Bad Acting on the Prairie" the other day (LIttle House on
the Prairie) and couldn't help but notice the resemblance between Albert,
the adopted son on the show, with our very own Lucas Roberts?

Is he one and the same? Do you all notice any similarities? Or am i just
going crazy?

Not the same person. He isnt that old guys. The actor who
did play the character was born in 1966. Our lucas was born
probably in the 70's. He and alison went to alison's prom.

No, that wasn't the actor who plays Lucas...it was Matthew Laborteaux.
I never thought about it, but they do kind of resemble each other,
don't they? After Little House, ML appeared in a pretty good horror
movie (kind of a teenaged Frankenstein movie) called 'Deadly Friend'
along with the orginal-Buffy (the vampire slayer) Kristy Swanson. I'm
not sure what else he has been in...

I remember that movie! It was entertaining, but I can't say it was that good :)
The boy was some sort of medical genius and had a pet robot. And then robot was
destroyed by bullies or something like that, and Kristi Swanson died, so he put
the robot's computer chip in her brain and stole her body from the morgue...and
then she began killing anyone who so much as raised their voice to the boy.
LOL! It was hysterical :)

Why would you say it's bad acting on the prairie? At least Michael Landon
wanted to do a program without cussing, nudity and all in it.

That kid on "Little House on the Prarie" was Matthew Laborteaux. Matthew's
brother also appeared on the series, but I can't recall his first name at
the moment. Matthew's eyes look a bit like Bryan Datillo's (Lucas
Roberts). I've seen recent photos of Matthew and I have to agree. Good
observation. Bryan Dattilo and Victor Webster (Nicky Alamain) are my
favorite actors on this goofy show, so I pay attention to them closely. I
can't recall a series that Bryan was on permanently as a kid, however Bryan
did appear in about 2 or 3 episodes of the t.v. series "In the Heat of the
Night" with Carroll and the late Hugh O' Connor several years ago. I did
not see the episodes, but I've met others who said Bryan did a good job
considering his age and inexperience at the time. Bryan's younger sister
Kristen is also an actor.

I have always loved Little House On The Prairie. I used to pretend that my
father was Pa and was coming home from work to take me fishing, although my
father never made the time for that sort of thing.

I liked her a lot when I was a kid. I liked the storyline when Laura's
blind sister Mary fell in love and got married. I like Melissa Gilbert's
husband even more than I like her. Bruce Boxleitner (I think that's his
name) is HOT. Just my opinion, but I disagree with the earlier post that
said Little House had bad acting. Michael Landon was one of our BEST
actors. He's sorely missed to this day. Every production that he touched
turned to gold and if anything at all, his work as an actor was an example
to others. He was a fine man and those who worked with him have nothing but
the best words to say of their experiences working under his direction and
alongside him as an actor.

I liked that wooden ladder that the girls had to get up to their bedroom.
I wanted one just like it and would always play on the ladders of other
kids I knew who had bunk beds after first witnessing the Ingall's ladder.
When I finally got a swingset I couldn't stay off the ladder. Other kids
wanted to swing, but "Little House" made me want to climb.

ITA! I absolutely loved Little House, and I still get teary-eyed when I catch
an episode. What a heartwarming and beautiful show that was! And I disagree
that the show had "bad" acting. The acting was fine, and certainly on or above
par with most TV shows. I think what the original poster disliked is the
sweetness and innocence of the show.

No, Eadie. I think the actor you mean for the Dr. Quinn series was Chad
Allen, the young actor who also played the autistic child in St. Elsewhere
and the son in Deidre's series 'Our House'.

Only one kid did the movie. All the other siblings had

From what I understand he didnt' treat his first wife & family all that
well.
It wasn't that he was abusive, but primarily neglectful as he was searching
for the
"perfect life" and neglecting what he had.
It seems that it was more that he was hurt as a child (aren't we all?) and
constantly looking for a "better life".
Further, I believe he made peace with all his children & even his wives as
one very large family towards the end of his life.
The shows he made reflected the kind of life he dreamed of having...
Whether he had it & didn't know it, I don't know.
A&E is pretty nonbiased when it comes to it's biography's. I believe he's
on this week.

His first wife came forth later and said that the relationship was disolved
when Landon shacked up with second wife. He was not yet divorced, so
technically he DID cheat, however the relationship was over and his first
wife on television has been quoted as saying "It was time for Michael to
move on, we did a lot of things to hurt one another, but it was time for
him to move on and I am VERY disappointed in the final outcome of this
movie." She didn't want it to be aired on television and said that the son
was ticked at Landon for SEVERAL different reasons and made the film for
the sole purpose of getting back at his dead father. The second wife said
on t.v. that some elements of the film ring true, but she said she refused
to watch the film and only heard things about it after others close to her
had watched it in it's full entirety for themselves.

The second wife said that "Michael had a lot of changes to make before he
could learn to be the father and husband that had always wanted to be. He
was an excellent father and an excellent man, but it was a learning process
for him the second time around." She said he was stubborn in many ways, but
she also said that he was not abusive. It sounds like he screwed up the
first marriage and got things right the second time around. That's how it
happens for a lot of people, it seems. TV movies aren't always a play by
play testament to one's life. I try to take them with a grain of salt,
especially considering the fact that Landon's son was obviously very
bitter. Cast members have said that on the set he was very emotional and
extremely demanding. He was a perfectionist who apparently took his work a
little too seriously, often at the expense of other's feelings.

I saw the movie, too, Bonbon, and IMO I think his son was sincere in the
interviews I watched promoting the movie. Michael Landon, IMO, should
have been applauded for participating in a show that promoted family
unity and strength of character. What actually happens in a
celebrities' personal life can actually be quite different from the
public's perception of the celebrity, again, IMO. No one's perfect! :)

Was it any good? IYO, I mean? Obviously it was not that good to someone, but
you know what I mean . . . :o)

person you may be the world.

I'm sorry, I like to feed the trolls. :o)

It wasn't bad. I only watched it twice. I didn't think it would be
cancelled, actually. It was on at the same time as something else I liked
better (can't recall that far back.... maybe Seinfeld?) so I didn't end up
watching it more than twice. Melissa was pretty good in it, though. She
was fiesty in that role.

I always liked her, too, and wonder why a lot of her stuff flops. Sounds like
this one just got pulled for lack of viewers. Too bad.

Melissa has appeared in many, many, many TV shows. Don't remember a series
though but that doesn't mean anything.

I, too, enjoyed "Little House on the Prairee" very much. My daughter was about
7 when the show was on. We got all the books of Laur Ingalls Wilder and we
read them together. Kim enjoyed this so much that she now has a daugher of her
own and a few weeks ago she bought some of these books and hopes to read them
with her daughter also.

The oldest son on Dr.Quinn, was Chad Allen...who played Deirdra Hall's son
on, Our House, or whatever it was called.

I don't remember the name of the show either. But I am thinking of one that
Melissa played a southern lawyer. She lived at home with her family and they were
wealthy. Cicely Tyson was one of her co workers. Is this what you were thinking
of?

I can remember watching the show every Monday night. I also have the complete
series of Laura's Books and I recently (in the past 2 years) have gotten her
Daughters Books....the one reguarding her life, they are written just as well
as her mothers. My daughter and I although she is just 10 months watch Little
House Monday thru Friday on TBS. I have also started reading the books again
and I am reading them aloud while Caitlin is playing. When Caiti is old enough
I am going to give both sets of books to her. I am looking for the complete
series of the shows, anyone know where I can find them? I have one of the
movies now...it is the one where Carrie buys the silver star with a penny that
she had. Christmas morning Pa and Carrie put the star on the top of the tree.
