Gee???) because she's just not convincing at all and her vocal
inflections and facial expressions are so fake. She always looks like
she's in pain and like she does not enjoy acting. She's even worse than
Austin.

We know why he hasnt been on lately, because hes terrible. I do think the
script is terrible for him, especially after him and greta were in that stupid

I think Andrea Hall Gengler's a waste of this soap's time, really and
truly. She's so phony! She didn't impress me very much as Sam Evans when
I was a kid watching DOOL either. Deidre's always been the better
actress of the two and IMO that's why Deidre gets roles on TV movies and
Andrea (her real life twin) does not. Andrea's facial expressions are
more predictable than Ted Koppel's bad haircuts, really and truly.

Speaking of shallow, Nadia may have the vocal cords to hit the nots, but the
expression on her face is like she is constipated. I know that is supposed
to be part of what Brady was blasting her for, but I also noticed it when
the cast was singing all last week as well.
Then there is Will. Poor kid. Somehow I think he just would rather be
playing than on the set.
Austin is just the top of the bunch. It is as painful to watch him act as
it is to hear Shatner sing.

I think it's neat how they both grew up without their mom and then
managed to "find" each other. Kinda' like when Rosie O' Donnell and
Madonna became friends while filming the movie "A League of Their Own".
Rosie's *not* my favorite person by any means, really, but I think it's
very cool that she was able to find a kinship with her friend this way.
It's like God sent them to each other to somehow begin the healing
process.

(sorry bout the language) All she ever does is cry, tell John she loves him
and generally acts pathetic. Her eyes are never dry, they're always misty
with tears, and she's just sooooooo boring, and she's a damn hypocrite,
it's alright for her to lie to Roman and yet it's not ok for Sami to lie to
Austin? I know they were different circumstances, but the truth with both
situations had a drastic effect. Also she's kidnapped at least 3times a year
(exaggeration) or she's 'died' and then comes back to life a few months
later. Really, when Marlana gets a decent storyline, one that doesn't
involve lots of crying or telling John she loves him or lying to someone,
well then I'll be happy. Personally I'd prefer a storyline where she dies
and never comes back, I think the show would be better off without her, but
nevermind...

No, she has NO expression in her delivery. All Nadia does is stares that
stare of hers, and thrusts out her chest. She has no expression and that is
NOT because the character is unemotional due to emotional scars. There is
nothing insightful in her acting that would make me believe that Chloe is a
suffering soul yearning to be loved. Nadia is flat. She throws out her lines
poorly. She stands and poses, she does not act.

I have always thought the same. When Brady sang to Chloe, Nadia did a wonderful
job, you could really see the depth of emotion in her face.

I've always felt that Nadia's one who conveys more with her eyes and
face than with her voice in terms of her acting. I think Kirsten Storms
is the exact opposite. She's all voice and relies a lot her hands and
her body language when she talks. That's why they compliment each other
so well in their buddy scenes and give flavor to the show.
No teens on this show are a carbon copy of each other, really. I have to
give them credit for that, even though some of the teen's writing sucks.
Much like with Beverly Hills, 90210, some of these DOOL teens are a
cliche (like Penny, Susan, and Kevin) but at least they're all very
different personalities, just like real teenagers.
This show hasn't captured the teenage years as heartbreakingly or as
effectively as My So Called Life or Party of Five did, IMO, but I'm
quite glad that the teens are all different from one another and all
seem to have their own set of personal and emotional baggage.
It's not Dobey Gillis, Father Knows Best, The Brady Bunch, Gidget, Saved
By the Bell, Leave it to Beaver, or Our Miss Brooks where you want to
snooze through the show because all the kids seem so much the same. It's
got a "Grease" aspect to it in that all of these kids have separate
fears, a separate sense of style or lack of, and separate baggage.

Well, I don't think you could be more wrong in your assessment, but
that's just my opinion and differing opinions are an interesting,
mind-extending, worthwhile thing as far as I'm concerned. :-)
Here's how I see it:
Chloe is emotionally scared. Chloe is wooden. CHLOE is flat and puts up
an exterior wall to "protect" herself from further being hurt.
(It's kind of like how Nicole's very defensive and snippy around men as
a means of protecting herself. She has to *appear* to have the upper
hand in order to feel safe. Chloe's method is to act stuffy and kind of
snobbish as a protective emotional armour of sorts...)
That's why Chloe couldn't even tell Philip "I love you". Those three
words aren't something she takes for granted, that's why. They would've
meant a lot, had she heard them when she was growing up. She's an
emotional wreck, so she's not going to be the spoiled Little Sunshine
Girl that Belle is or the fliplipped Smart Alec that Fath portrays so
well in Mimi Lockhart.
JMO, but I think Bjorlin is portrayed her as she's been directed to and
as the writers have crafted this fragile, formerly orphaned and abused
character. Severe emotional abuse and neglect makes people act like
Chloe. Severely ignored boundaries between a parent and child lead them
to act out like Nicole has.
The sole reason that Nicole seeks power and clout in money and sex is
because she was Paul's source of increased income via her own sexual
abuse. When she uses her sexuality as a financial weapon in her
adulthood, she feels vindicated, like she's somehow getting "back at
Daddy".
Chloe is the same way about the whole "I Love You" thing. She treats the
words like a *REWARD* that no one around her is worthy of because it's a
phrase that no one ever took for granted to loosely verbalize or even
meaningfully approach her with while growing up.
I hope that Brady is the person she finally says it to, and something's
telling me that when it's finally versed, she's going to mean every
damned word of it almost as if it were her lifeline.
I'm rooting for that boy wholeheartedly. He's extremely protective of
Belle and Chloe to the degree that he's fastidiously cognizant and all
too aware of their emotion. Brady deserves those three words from her
(down the road a ways) SO MUCH MORE than Philip ever could. He's human
on every level that Philip is so incredibly plastic.

How's she keep her makeup on? She cries wayyyyyy too much. I know
there's such a thing as Waterproof mascara, but damn...Marlena's got
like two layers of black liquid eyeliner on and two rows of fake
eyelashes on the top of the lid and off to the sides. You can tell when
she closes her eyes to kiss John. That'd be uncomfortable to cry with.
Not to mention all that eyeshadow. Yeeeeeick. I'd try to make a deal
with the costume/makeup people if I were her. Whenever she cries (which
is like every day she's on) it's just a hideous race to dab her eyes
within two seconds so it doesn't all smear. LMAO at her!
For what it's worth, I do think she is pretty. She doesn't even NEED all
of that eyemakeup. She's pretty on her own!

I don't like, or watch, Nicole enough to have any clue as to her
character, but what you said about Chloe, JN, that's *exactly* how I
see her. Ditto Brady. I can't imagine Chloe's wanting anything to do

I'm so tired of people saying that Chloe is stuck up or that she MEANS
to ever be a snob toward people. She's emotionally guarded and nothing
more. It's hardly intentional on her part IMO. She's as frail as a leaf

I like Nicole's character because there's that victim side of her with
the whole Paul-Fay-Brandon thing and then there's that tough girl side
of her at Titan. Therefore, it is hard to know what to expect with her.
I can't stand predictable characters and she really keeps me on my toes!

But Marlana definatly wears way too much makeup, she must realize that she

Hope is tremendously annoying in her big stacked heels playing mommy.
She stands there shaking him up and down in her disco boots and says
stuff like "What do you think JT? What do you think, my sweet boy?".
It's so annoying. She's a total nerd. Massive flake. She's going to
stumble and that poor kid's going to go flying!
