Today's episode, as Angelique tried on "her" new hat, talked of knowing rich
silks (without looking at the price), having table manners as good as
Josette's, and that she wouldn't leave the Collins house unless in her own
carriage, I began to doubt whether she loves Barnabas at all. I think she
just sees him as her ticket to the good life. Gee, I hate being so cynical.

Hello...
I believe that Angelique was in love with the idea of being in
love with my Brother, later it would manifest into a deep true love, but for now it
is poor Barnabas who is the prize in Angelique's twisted game of "he loves me, he
loves me not." T.T.F.N. Sarah Collins.
The loving sister of Barnabas.

"That evil is wicked is well understood.
the wicked are punished so you must be good."
(Sarah to Barnabas.)

I think both of you are right, Angelique definitely wanted to improve her
station, but I think she also sincerely loved Barnabas, though she did
let her jealousy get away with her. Remember, when she and Barnabas are
about to marry, and Joshus disowns Barnabas, Angelique tells Barnabas she
will marry him rich or poor--so she does sincerely love him for himself...

Isn't if amazing how alike Angalique and Barnabas are? Barnabas wanted Maggie
and then Vickie to come to him of their own free wills...kinda. Barnabas
angers quickly and do rash things in that anger...several times almost killing
Dr. Hoffman. Angalique in her anger and pain almost killed Barnabas...and
then, only then did she realize she was about to kill the man she loved.

It would seem that this Angelique has not just the face of Catherine
Harridge, but also her heart!

Jamison, Aunt Sarah, we must reach out and warn cousin Barnabas!
