Willie wanted to panic, big time! but kept his composure as best he
could under the circumstances considering where he and Barnabas were
and of course how they got there.  "Barnabas! what do ya mean we came
back in time? huh? nobody can go back in time! this ain't happenin!
I'm freaking out here."  Standing in clothes that no
longer fit him properly Barnabas couldn't do much but listen to
Willie's rantings, not fully understanding what freaking out actually
meant, but understanding it meant his current behavior which was to say
the least irrational.  Searching around the room Barnabas recognized
at once his surroundings, reaching up to Willie's mouth, Barnabas tried
to shut it as best he could.  "Willie, please your so called freaking
out will not help us, I'm not sure why we were transported here, but I
do know where we are... this is the Old House, I mean the first
Collinwood, I'm sure of it, I recognize this room, it is a portion of
the basement my Father had repaired after a heavy rain one year."
Barnabas' expression changed to one of almost fear.  "It was the year
I was twelve years old, my father was back from the war and it was the
only time I ever met my great uncle Benjamin, I don't know why I'm
remembering that now, as I recall he was a very shy person and I
couldn't stand to be near him so I avoided him as much as possible."
Willie became dizzy then fell to the floor with a thud.

Barnabas kneels at Willie side. "Are you all right Willie."
Shaking his head to recover Willie nods. "Yeah, I just got a little
dizzy for a second... what's that all about, I've never been sick a day
in my life."  Barnabas stands. "I think I know what is happening, the
same thing happened to Julia when she also was transported to the past,
since she had no existential body for that period of time, she could
not speak for a while and was confused about her surroundings, it turned
out to be a blessing because she was found by Edward who asked her
questions he was better off not knowing, Julia also couldn't be killed
when Aristede set a trap with a gun that shot Julia when I opened the
door to where Count Petofi was keeping her, I suppose your lucky you
merely got dizzy."  Willie takes a deep breath.  "I'm afraid you
will not remain very long in this time Willie, I will because as you
see I have a body in this time, you will know you are about too be taken
back to your own true time when you begin to hear voices from the
future just as Julia did, then you will gradually fade from here and
reappear in your own time."  Willie looks seriously at Barnabas. "What
about you, how will you get back."  Barnabas doesn't reply to Willie's
question.

Looking around the room Barnabas wonders about his transcendental
body in the future weather it had returned to the coffin or not and how
or if he will be able to also return to the future, and if that future
would be as he and Willie left it.   Willie stands up. "What did ya
just say, Barnabas."  Looking at him Barnabas became aware that for
once he had to look up to see Willie's face. "I don't recall saying
anything."  Willie also became aware of the height difference. "Sure
ya did, you said transcendental something."  Barnabas just stands
there. "Barnabas, I don't feel it any more." Turning, Barnabas takes a
few steps away.  "I don't know what you mean."  Willie places his
hands on his chest and head. "I don't feel you any more Barnabas, I'm
not under your power, your not a... when you were a  Vampire, I used
ta feel you deep in my head, I could feel your hold over me, now its
gone, I feel like I did when I first came to Collinsport."
Stepping back to him Willie notices something. "Barnabas, ya know
something, you kinda look like David, but different, ya know."
Barnabas places his hands on his hips. "Well we are related, of course
you don't feel my control over you Willie, I'm a child, a mere child...
what I find difficult to believe is why, except for reverting back
physically to that of a twelve year old, do I remember you, how can
all my future memories have remained with me, my voice is different, but
I remember everything."  Willie began to laugh as he moves away from
Barnabas. "I think this is very ironic Barnabas, I've been waitin for an
opportunity like this for a long time, wishing I wasn't under your
control, that I could do ta you what you did ta me, make ya suffer and
hurt ya like you did ta me."  Willie stops, turns and stairs at the
boy before him, the child who as an adult once treated him so cruelly,
stepping up to him Willie looks down at Barnabas, and Barnabas looks
up waiting for him to decide what to do.

Going down to one knee, Willie places his hand on Barnabas'
shoulder. "I don't know what I'm doin here Barnabas, or how long I'll be
here, but I do know I'll do what I can ta find out."  Barnabas
seemed to become the child he appeared to be, embracing his arms
around Willie's neck, hugging him in gratitude.  Pulling Barnabas away
Willie asks. "How do we start."  Looking at his clothing Barnabas
suggests they begin with finding a way to get into clothes that fit
him properly.  Willie and Barnabas laugh lightly, when unexpectedly
they heard a noise approaching them, Willie was fast enough to dodge
into a dark alcove out of sight, Barnabas on the other hand was left
standing in the middle of the room when his father strode in speaking to
one of his laborers.   Stopping Joshua Collins glances down upon
his son, after ordering the servant to leave Joshua turns to Barnabas
still standing before him, not uttering a word out of shock and
surprise, lifting the fabric of one of  the over sized sleeves, Joshua
announces irritatingly. "Barnabas, I see you've taken to pilfering other
people's clothing." Before Barnabas could attempt to explain, he was
swiftly taken by his ear and escorted out of the basement
room.  Slowly emerging from his hiding place Willie felt sorry for
Barnabas, but at the same time he seemed to feel a little inner laugh
wanting to come out at the thought of Barnabas receiving a sound
spanking.  Hearing the upper door close Willie knew he had to find
Barnabas' room so they could work on how to set right what once went
wrong.
