There was a pretty good biography on the A&E channel tonight. It was
about Claus von Bulow. It had some great footage of Alexandra Moltke
(Isles) on the witness stand testifying against him in 1979 and in
1984. Did anyone else happen to see this?

I saw part of the repeat at 1:00AM then fell asleep. What I found
interesting is that Vicki(Alexandra) wanted Claus to be free and marry her
and didnt want the fooling aorund to go any further. Claus wanted to
forever play on he side and enjoy his wife's money at the smae time. Vick
said nay. No more. So it was implied that Claus tried to off his wife to
be with Vicki as he didnt want to live without the money.

They said Alexandra had a son(probably the pregnancy that caused her to
leave Dark Shadows) but didnt mention what happen to her husband or why
she left him. Also I dont know if they said how she ws supporting herself
at the time. Maybe her husbands money. Who knows.

I think Biography should do a week of DS biographies. Not only would DS fans
watch, but these stories have all the elements that fascinate Biography
fans: Alexandra Moltke's story includes the above-mentioned scandal, Kathryn
Leigh Scott has had numerous careers (Playboy bunny, actress, publisher),
Joan Bennett was a successful film actress prior to DS, and you get a
couples story with Sam and Grayson Hall. The only problem I see would be
narrowing it down to five people.

If the way Jeremy Irons portrayed him is any indication of the real man,
one scary dude. He could've given Gregory Trask a run for his money.

=================================
There was a site with a scanned photo taken in 1998 or early 1999 of Alexandra
with her quite handsome son Adam Isles, for the premier of a documentary about
her father's Resistance efforts during WW2. A.M.I. actually looks pretty
good, considering that she's turning 55 this year--- however, as of the date
of that picture, she still kept her hair as long as it was on DS when she was
21, and appeared to keep it dark, too, so maybe this works against her in some
way. I surely wouldn't want her to get those lovingly-preserved tresses
chopped in a "grandma" style, but hairdressers used to say that heavy long
hair DOES drag down mature features, so she might look better if it's worn
"up".

I don't think she'll ever show up for a DS event, unless there was some way
she could do it incognito (first, she has to disguise the hair!), or be in a
tightly-controlled moderated situation where there's little-to-NO chance of
her being asked about, well, you-know-who and you-know-what. Though I would
pity the fool who DARED to ask--- wouldn't give the party a snowball's chance
in Hay-yill of escaping the auditorium without bruises and contusions.

The interview was shot in 1990. I thought that she had weathered the
intervening years relatively pretty gracefully.

LOL -- I don't think anyone would dare. Doubtless it would be the same if
Betsy Durkin was to tag along for a convention, I'm certain that everyone
would smile politely, say how much they enjoyed her performance and line up
to get their program books signed. Anyway, if Alexandra was to participate
in a DS Q & A, we all know that Claus would take second place to all of
those fascinating questions on 1795 time paradoxes and the Leviathans
devious escapades... <g>

I disagree. It would be inevitable that some "fans" would say something like,
"You were no Alexandra."
