The video can be viewed by looking for Dark Shadows finale.
Our local station stopped broadcasting DS around Dec 1970 and since they
had been showing it at an earlier time I wouldn't have been able to see it
in April anyway because of school.
I do have the VHS #200 and saw it on the SCI-FI channel (the only
difference was SCI-FI stuck a commercial break in between the last scene
and Thayer David's narration) so I assume that was what was broadcast
originally. Don't see any reason why it would have been changed for the
reruns/VHS.

I will have to check my tape of the final episode from Sci-Fi.... I
don't recall them splitting the final segment as you've described
unless they did that much later in the repeats of the series. My
recording is from around 1994 or so. I too have the VHS tapes from MPI
and it matches the you tube video....

"Religion is man's futile attempt to reach out to God, trying to earn
His favor. Christianity is the good news that God has reached out in
love to us through His Son, because He knows that our arms are not long
enough..."
That's the beauty of DVD. You're feeling all sad about the end, but then,
Hey! you get to start all over again. It's like getting a new puppy after a
beloved dog dies.

the DVD and broadcast versions of the show are identical from what I
can tell. There is no difference at all... however, this other person
claims that DS ended with a full credit crawl with FULL cast and crew
and was ran over a brick wall background and displayed the words 'THE
END?' at the end of the credits running. Given the expense involved in
video tape back then, there's NO WAY Dan Curtis would have produced 2
different closes.
This other person is thinking of a different series.

That's my thought as well.
