Tate admitted to stealing Quentin's portrait, and in fact it was in
his studio when the studio burned. Nevertheless, he evidently saved it
somehow and painted another picture on top of it.

He also did that with Amanda's portrait, but how did he get it back
after Judith bought it so that she could put it in Quentin's room to
annoy Gregory? When he found it -- like he hadn't already been all
over every inch of that room -- he threw it on the floor and stamped
all over it. Not that that would necessarily ruin it, but how did Tate
get it back? All Judith and Tim did was take the bricks down and put
up a regular wall -- they even left Gregory in there.

Maybe Tim did a little "looting" before he sealed up the room. Or
maybe Tate used the I Ching to go to the future and had some color
copies made at Kinko's.

Tate probably painted more than one copy, artists do that often

Yet he managed to miss the gun, too. Yeah, pretty unbelievable.

I thought Tate did several portraits of Amanda. Isn't Julia's
canvas quite a bit smaller than the Judith/Gregory one?

Yeah, I think it's a different one of Amanda. The expression on her face isn't
quite the same as the one that Judith bought.

Now there's an idea! We never did learn how Tate's power really
works...

If CDT made slight changes in each painting, there could be a whole armada of
amended Amandas .

Remember that exchange in Get Smart?:

"I bought you a train ticket to Tequila yesterday."
"No, you bought me a tramway ticket to Tahatcha."
"Max, I'm not getting in another tongue twister battle with you. Last time I
couldn't talk for three days."

Yes, those who are amenable to Amazon bought some books by Kingsley Amis.

And I think Amy Jennings bought her lesson book about American History
there...but she got her notebook from Ampad.

A friend of mine lost her amulet at the hospital when she went in for
amniocentesis. To raise money to buy another one, she's been selling Amway
products.

Was her amulet made with an ample supply of amethyst? When she was
hospitalized, did they give her any amphetamines?
