Except for "The X Files" I'm not familiar with the other 90s
programs. I would certainly find a place for "Alcoa Presents"
later called "One Step Beyond." Technically speaking it
was not sci-fi because the events were reportedly "real"
cases, but as you know by the time it reaches TV it is a
more fi than sci. But I really enjoyed the series.
It ran (original) from 1959-1961. It had a real eerie theme
by Harry Lubin, and was hosted by John Newland. It's
content (paranormal) was closer to the "X-Files" than TZ.
