In total, Cameron's directorial efforts have grossed approximately US
$2 billion in North America and US$6 billion worldwide.
Cameron's Titanic and Avatar are the two highest-grossing films of all
time at $1.8 billion and $2.7 billion respectively. In March 2011, he
was named Hollywood's top earner by Vanity Fair, with estimated 2010
earnings of $257 million.
The most allegedly demanding and difficult filmmaker, James Cameron
sold his script for Terminator for one dollar on the condition that he
gets to direct it and then went on to give us blockbusters like
Titanic and Avatar.
And if this wasn’t enough, he has extended 3D ventures for TV shows,
Sports & Advertising. "Our goal is
to banish all the perceived and actual barriers to entry that are
currently holding back producers, studios and networks from embracing
their 3D future," Cameron said in a statement.
