YO y'all!

Thanks to the miracle of closed-captioning & the speed of my now-healed wrists
(yay!), I'm able to provide for your musical enjoyment the 2 original songs
from "IS IT FALL YET?"

If you haven't seen the movie yet, these songs should still be accessible on
the Daria Movie Page on MTV's website. Still, I'll provide some spoiler space
. . .

[By the way, have y'all sent in your letters/lasagna boxes of support for
Season 6 yet?]

[I mean, it's been over a month now. What's your excuse for not writing?]

[Yeah, I'm nagging. Get over it.]

OK, here we go. Read over them, print them out, & use them at your next
karaoke soiree.

** SONG # 1**

"TURN THE SUN DOWN"

Performed by SPLENDORA

Music & Lyrics by Janet Wygal [NOTE: lyrics in parentheses are sung in the
background]

La la la la la. . .

Turn the sun down . . . turn the sun down;
(Ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Turn the sun down . . . turn the sun down;
(Ooh ooh ooh ooh)

Hey!

Oh, no - don't say surf's up.
(Flowers bloom, got to grow, grow, grow; hey, sunburn's got to glow, glow,
glow)
I don't hang ten -- in fact, I hang none.
(My role model's a barnacle; don't go kicking my sandcastle)
Dig the undertow,
Hurry up and row,
Well maybe,
(ooh)
Someone could turn down the sun.
(sun, sun, sun, ooh-ooh)

Turn the sun down. . .turn the sun down;
(sun, sun, sun, ooh-ooh)
Turn the sun down. . .turn the sun down
(sun, sun, sun, ooh-ooh)

Where's Jaws when you need him?
(A tan line's not a big disgrace; I kick sand into my own face)
A tsunami would just be too grim.
(Hey, let's frug - on the other hand; let's not just 'cause we know we can)
Hey don't block my shade;
Hold the lemonade,
And maybe, someone could turn down the sun!
(ooh ooh ooh ooh)

Turn the sun down . . . turn the sun down;
(Ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Turn the sun down . . . turn the sun down;
(Ooh ooh ooh ooh)

**SONG 2**

"FREAKIN' FRIENDS"

Performed by MYSTIK SPIRAL
Music & Lyrics written by -- Mystik Spiral (i.e., I don't know who to credit
here! I'm presuming that it's someone on the "Daria" creative team.)

When the aliens come,
When the death rays hum,
When the bummers bum,
We'll still be freakin' friends!

When the whip comes down,
When they nuke the town,
When dead clowns can't clown,
We'll still be freakin' friends!

CHORUS:

Freakin' friends, freakin' friends;
'Til we come to bad ends, we're freakin' friends!
Freakin' friends, freakin' friends;
'Til we come to bad ends, we're freakin' friends!

When the 'skeeter bites,
Lightning hits our kites,
When we miss our flights,
We'll still be freakin' friends!

When my number's called,
When my garden's walled,
When my tires are bald,
We'll still be freakin' friends!

CHORUS

I was halfway down the plank,
Had a stake against my flank,
Then you drove by in The Tank . . .
Rock on!

[Insert guitar solo which sounds like a 3rd rate imitation of Eddie Van Halen]

When we're parched with drought,
And we can't catch trout;
When my voice gives out [cough]
We'll still be freakin' friends!
When the razor cuts,
When they torch the huts,
When I hate your guts,
We'll still be freakin' friends!

CHORUS (2 times)

HTH those who posted earlier and asked about the lyrics. (Just doin' my part
for the atd community!) B-)

Chirping through the night (with a song in my heart),

Like the other person said, thank you for the background lyrics.

It's just not beachboy music without the harmonies.

My role model's a barnacle 😄
