"We've talked to the creators and there's not as long-a-shot as you
might think that 'Daria' might be back on one of our channels," says
MTV Networks boss Van Toffler.
Rebroadcasting Daria uncut via any network's prime-time/adult block would
be an excellent start.
If they plan on making new episodes, however, they should tread very
carefully.
The original series ended with Daria and Jane going to college - unless the
producers plan on tracking these two characters (and possibly the other
characters from time to time), any new episodes would have to do more than
recycle old plots.
The characters have enough depth that nearly any type of story is possible
including a lot of poorly written ones. -_-U
If they can screw up Daria's DVD box set, I hold out very little hope that
this new series will live up to the standards set by its superlative
predecessor.
I suppose that we can all wait and see, though. 9_9

who thinks that Viacom allowing postings of UNCUT episodes to YouTube would
be another promotional building block.
New episode of Daria and Aeon Flux would both be much better TV viewing
options than more Beavis & Butthead.

Okay, I'll ask: how was the DVD release screwed up? Besides changing
the music (which is not limited to Daria by any wild stretch of the
imagination) or including the cut version of "Is It College Yet?" (is
it the same version that was released separately on DVD (which was the
version that aired with commercials), or were further cuts made it it
- I have heard two different versions), that is?

Revise that to "Daria" and "The Maxx", and I'd totally agree with you.
