In the 3/27 show, Pam was shown standing in front of a building
bearing the sign "The John F. Kennedy Museum." I was surprised,
because even though Dallas's chief notoriety before the series was as
the scene of the Kennedy assassination, I didn't think the show ever
referred or alluded to it. Characters often mention by name places in
town that outsiders may never have heard of, like Energy Square and
Thanksgiving Park (or whatever -- it's the place where Bobby met Pam
to tell her he would give her a divorce), but I don't think they ever
mentioned Dealy Plaza, which non-Dallasites *would* know. On the other
hand, when Cliff and April flew to Canada to find the fake Pam (ten
years after the current episodes), prominent signs showed that they
were leaving from Love Field, which brought back to me an immediate
association to the assassination. Maybe Dealy Plaza is in a crappy
part of town where Ewings would never go? But Dealy Plaza can't be too
far from the School Book Depository, and I've heard that the museum is
in that building.

Well the plaza would kind of be on the other side of downtown from where the
Ewing Oil building is. And yes there is a museum in the (former) Texas
school book depository called "The 6th floor exhibit", very nice place and
informative with almost no detail left untouched.

The Sixth Floor Exhibit didn't open until 1992.

And I don't think one would leave from Love Field to fly to Canada.

Actually The School Book Depository is right around the Corner from
the Dallas Courthouse that the show has visited many times. Why their
have never been any references to the area or even scenese with the
famous buildings in it is beyond me. Even the Dallas County Jail is
visible from The School Book Despository and we know that Aprils
Sister was in there !

Before the current "Sixth Floor Exhibit," there used to be a John F.
Kennedy Museum right across the street (east of the School Book
Depository). I think it closed around 1981 or 82.

Possibly someone involved in DALLAS was friends with Kennedy or someone
associated with the Kennedys that might have found it upsetting to mention
the incident! You never know!
