I liked how he used the line "Keep your friends close, and your
>enemies even closer," something JR quotes Jock as saying all the time

Jock and Don Corleone must have been friends because they both told the same
quote to their respective sons J.R. and Michael.

Hell both have family companies, ones oil and the other is the olive oil
business. Though Don's was a front for the mafia.

Both have sons who fued, JR and Bobby, Michael and Fredo. Though I dont
think JR has tried to kill Bobby yet.

Both Jock and Don Vito Corleone died before their wives..
" buy senators....
" had their sons aquited on fedral charges
" have had sons be the object of government investigations
"Both have had fueds, the Barnes and Ewings, The Corleones and Barzinni's
and the heads of the other 5 familys.
Both have had pansy children, Gary Ewing and Fredo Corleone....
Both have had two of their sons run the family business, Sonny and Michael
Corleone, JR and Bobby Ewing..

Any other Godfather and Dallas connections?

Your examples are excellent. Here are a few more, not as good:

Both have car explosions that result in the loss of wives:
- Appollonia, Michael's wife in "Godfather," who dies
- Pam, Bobby's wife, who vanishes forever

Both have secret illegitimate sons:
- Sonny's son who appears in "Godfather III" (sorry, can't remember his
name)
- James Beaumont, JR's son

Both Michael and JR destroy every potential rival:
- Michael has his enemies gunned down on the day of the christening
- JR ruins his enemies psychologically and financially

Sonny and JR both had a way with the ladies while they were still married.

Sonny had sex with the girl on the day of his sister's wedding, and if I
remember right, JR had sex with Afton on the day of Lucy's wedding.

Well, "The Godfather" began with marriage and "Dallas" began with bobby
and Pam who had just gotten married.

The wedding scene in "The Godfather" took place right ouside of home of
the influential father and almost all wedding scene in "Dallas" take place
outside of the home of the influential father (Jock).

Jock got shot (camping trip) and Vito got shot and they both lived.

Jock and Vito both had heart attacks but Jock lived.

There was incest in "Godfather III" (cousins Andy Garcia and Sofia
Coppola) and there was Ray and Lucy on "Dallas."

Just to let you all know, the Corleone family manse where the filmed the
wedding, heart attack scene, etc. is on my block.

Cool. I LOVE all of the "Godfather" movies -- I'd love to see that
house.
