Wish I would have been in New York for that deal!!! The new season of
"Dallas" has started off great!
FROM: CR
TNT capitalized upon one of the most universal of American desires to
promote the third season of Dallas: cheap gas. For just 12 hours on
Monday a gas station in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen re-branded itself
as "Ewing Energies," one of the fictional companies that the
drama focuses on, and started prices at $1.98 per gallon.
As you can imagine, New Yorkers took full advantage of the deal. The
promotion created a line two blocks long by mid-afternoon, thanks in
part to an advertisement in the Sunday New York Times. Considering the
average cost of gas in the city is $3.75 per gallon, we're surprised
the line didn't extend all the way up to the Upper West Side.
