It, in a nutshell.

Yet he still got 47% of the popular vote.
It sure looks to me like this country is in danger of splitting.
I really wish we could move to a blue state. Right. Now.

I try to laugh about it, but living in South Carolina
is too depressing, especially when all your cousins,
whom you love dearly, are ultra-right. 8~\ When i
find myself wanting to be more distant from people i love
it's hard! But yeah. Fundamentistan ain't no place to be!

I'm from NC and most previous generations were from SC
- my mom inherited a lot to build on so my parents retired here
and my dad is still here.

It is beautiful on the coast, and a tiny bit better educated
and therefore less a redneck version of GOP, tho still heavily
GOP. So here we are, thinking on going back up north!

Me, too. Try living in Utah, where almost 3/4 of the vote was for Romney.
It even happens when the Repub is not Mormon.

Get back, get back, get back to where you belong!

Folks tell me that the first thing folks in SC ask you is what church
you go to.

Yeah, my sister said the same about Alabama. For businessand social
purposes, she and her family all joined the Methodist Church shortly after
they moved there. 5 years later, only my BIL still attends. They are,
unfortunately, mis-guided Republicans.

But the national parks here are beyootiful. I think that's pretty much the
one saving grace, unless you ski.
