Kelley Offers "Hope" Hope
Sat, Mar 27, 1999 11:06 AM PST

David E. Kelley, creator of CBS's medical drama "Chicago Hope," has offered to
contribute more to the show if CBS brings it back for a sixth season,
according to the Hollywood Reporter. Kelley has spent the last two seasons
working on both his ABC drama "The Practice" and FOX's "Ally McBeal," but has
had virtually no inolvement in "Chicago Hope" since its first season. However,
the drama has faced lower numbers this year in the face of the increasing
success of NBC's "Law & Order" and ABC's "20/20."

Kelley will have one new series, "Snoops," debut next fall on ABC, but is
expected to have minimal day-to-day involvement.

For me this is good news...but even with Kelly writing...will CH still be the
same without Geiger, Birch, Thudmond, Nyland and Kronk???

I wonder what Kelly will do with the present "chicago hope" " the show has
changed ALOT in the past 5 seasons!!!

Alright. I ask this question often. How ar they going to drop Kronk's
character?? He is married to a doctor on the show. Is she going to leave. Is he
surlly leaving before the season is over.

Please, please, PLEASE let David Kelly write some episodes. His writing
is sooo good, CH would *have* to improve, even without Geiger (though he
certainly made the show interesting :))
