A couple of questions:

- Given that there are plenty of political USENET groups where this
thread would be on-topic, why was this thread started on
rec.sport.pro-wrestling?
- When this thread was taken to other groups, why was it only brought to
still more groups where it is off-topic?

Answer #1 : Because you are gay
Answer #2: Because you touch yourself at night.

Our liberals refuse to shut the fuck up. And wrestling is currently lame and
barely worth discussing so we're bored.

But mostly the liberals thing.

That I can't help you with.

These answers tell us quite a lot:

- They tell us that you redirected this thread to a lot of sites that
were off-topic;
- They tell us that you cannot even pretend to justify this action;
- That you are incapable of coming up with truly creative insults; and
- That you are an anti-gay bigot.

In these time, it is hard to see how using the line "Because you are
gay" as an insult could be justified to your gay friends. Then again,
this is is probably a moot point, given the low probability that you
have any friends at all.

Just like Rhea Perlman's corpse!

Wrong.

Wrong.

(though I do pretend that I nailed your mother)

Wrong, wrong.

Can you truly be this stupid or did a wizard from the Harry Potter universe
cast the "Moronius" spell on you just to fuck with you for being a Muggle?

Your last batch of insults definitely shows some improvement. It may
seem odd to hear the target of the jests make that observation, but it
is worth noting two improvements in your last post:

1. No insult was based on sexual preference, race, gender etc.; and
2. Two of the insults (Rhea Perlman and Harry Potter) rise above grade
school taunts and display some wit.

Our exchange has turned this thread into a thread on insults. We has
veered off from the 9/12 protesters, the original subject of this
thread. I would argue, however, that our changing the subject is a
positive development! The discussion of the 9/12 protesters was
off-topic on every group where it was posted. In contrast, a discussion
of insults *would* be on topic for those groups related to pro wrestling
and to animation, and most likely be on topic for alt.flame.rspw.

Stay tuned.

Animation is an ideal format for visual gags. Many humorous cartoons,
however, supplement the physical stuff with insult humor. Take a look at
the Bugs Bunny cartoons: Elmer was equipped with a rifle, Bugs was
equipped with a sharp wit, and Bugs wins. The funnier episodes of "Teen
Titans" did derive their humor from the antics of Beast Boy, but this
was accompanied by Raven's sardonic wit. And where would "Family Guy" be
without Brian's and Stewie's put-downs?

These are but a few examples. There are undoubtedly many more, so let us
open this up to the group. What are your favorite examples of cartoon
insult humor?

The Joker gives it to the Bats in pretty much any incarnation,
but when voiced by Mark Hammill, even innocuous phrases have a
sardonic inflection.

You want put-downs? I'd have to point you in the direction of Lawndale and
a certain Ms. Daria Morgendorffer. Mind you, she has plenty of opportunity!

Good point! Come to think of it, it's surprising that no one has
mentioned "Beevis and Butthead" yet.

One of the biggest animation insults has to be the silly "Super Dave Osborne
Show" ... opps! Sorry, that was an insult to animation, an entirely
different concept. ;-)
