Castle’s Nathan Fillion Answers Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Biggest Question
July 10, 2013 at 03:16PM EDT by Rachel McRady

Long before Nathan Fillion played mystery writer Rick Castle on Castle and
even in a time before he was Captain Mal Reynolds on Firefly, he played an
evil preacher named Caleb who worked for the “First Evil” on the final
season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Fillion fans still cherish his time on the cult classic and are always
asking him questions about Buffy. And on July 10, Nathan was asked one of
the biggest questions one can ask a Buffy fan — whether he’s Team Spike or
Team Angel.

Angel was Buffy’s original love, but they were torn apart in the show’s
third season when the angsty vamp realized that there was no future for
them.

Spike started off as Buffy’s foe, but his obsession with the slayer soon
turned to love and in the show’s sixth season, he and Buffy had a steamy
romance. They had their ups and downs, but by the end of the series, Buffy
confessed her love for Spike.

So which Team is Nathan on?

“Spike, duh!” Nathan replied to the fan.

The actor’s choice might be a bit personal considering Angel swooped in to
save the day right before Caleb was going to kill Buffy. That distraction
ultimately led to Buffy slicing the preacher in half from the crotch up!

Actually, I think Nathan was Mal before he was Caleb. :-)

Neither.
I would say Team Xander.

Well, that's only because he had to split! ;-)

I think THE question would be -- "If all the stars aligned and
things were perfect, would you abandon 'Castle' to return to 'Firefly'?"
