Well before his chat last night (I logged off at 7:50 when it looked like
nothing was going to happen) someone posted that they lived in Modesto (his
home town) and that she had seen him in the Starbucks there and that he has
a kid! I never saw that factoid on jamesmarsters.com.

"Zero" at jamesmarsters.com comes down like a ton of bricks on any attempt
to discuss any part of JM's life that he has not made public - something
about the difference between fandom and "creepy stalkerness" <g>

Well good for him - but here's the poop I found quite easily and I would
hardly define this as being "stalkerish" - it's not like trekking thousands
of miles to see him at some Sci-Fi convention in England - please.....

James Marsters, vampire
Seattle theater-goers may remember James Marsters, an ambitious young actor
who worked with several companies here. Also, with his wife Liane Davidson,
he ran a company here in the early '90s called New Mercury Theatre.
When the couple had a son, Sullivan, four years ago, they decided to move to
Los Angeles, where actors can make enough money to support a family with
children. Marsters' assignments this year include a regular role in the WB
TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Marsters plays Spike, a bleach-blond
reformed vampire from England.

My, my, my. If it's true he has a child, I wonder why it never came up in an
interview. Maybe Mutant Enemy didn't want it known that he had a kid for some
reason? -- make him less popular with female fans? I remember that James had
the same girlfriend from the days prior to BtVS up to approximately this
summer. He talked about her quite a bit so it didn't seem like he was the type
to be extremely circumspect about his private life. But it's possible he was
protecting the child from the limelight by not revealing that he had one.

I wonder if James might be a few years older than has been stated in the press
(not at all uncommon in The Biz). It doesn't seem like he could have had
enough time to attend college, be in plays, get to the point where he was
running a theater, all before the age of 26 or so which I thought he was when
he was on BtVS.

This gossipy and therefore probably entirely inappropriate post is now brought
to a conclusion. :)

maybe 'cause it doesn't MATTER, and some of us get so tired of seeing
celebrities or anyone else nattering on about the fact that they've
managed to reproduce--something cockroaches manage on a daily
basis....

If you look him up on imdb it shows his wife (but no dates) and adds
'divorced'.

Maybe it was recent and he didn't want to talk about it?

There's some pics of him with a woman named LIZ STAUBER, who I do not recognize.  IMDB says she was in almost famous, teaching mrs tingle, and can't hardly wait - truly heavy fare for any actor. . .
Hmm.  whatever.

They met during a play they were both doing and dated for about 3 years.
Never married though and he genuinely seemed crazy about her from everything
I read.
